Abstract

Se describe un catalizador de conversión de tres vías de múltiples capas que tiene la capacidad de catalizar en forma simultánea la oxidación de hidrocarburos y monóxido de carbono y la reducción de óxidos de nitrógeno. Se proporciona un material catalítico de por lo menos cuatro capas junto con un portador, donde cada una de las capas incluye un soporte, por lo menos tres capas comprenden un componente de metal precioso y por lo menos una capa comprende un componente de almacenamiento de oxígeno (OSC). El material catalítico puede además comprender una quinta capa, donde por lo menos cuatro capas comprenden un componente de metal precioso, por lo menos una capa comprende un componente de almacenamiento de oxígeno y por lo menos una capa es sustancialmente libre de un componente de almacenamiento de oxígeno.
