Abstract
Se proporcionan catalizadores que mejoran el rendimiento de activación del monóxido de carbono (CO), de los hidrocarburos (HC) y de los óxidos de nitrógeno (NOx). Un compuesto catalizador para motores de combustión, tal como se la proporciona en la presente, comprende un portador y una primera capa que contiene en el portador un material catalítico, material catalítico que comprende un componente de paladio que tiene por soporte tanto un componente almacenador de oxígeno basado en óxido de cerio y óxido de praseodimio, como también un componente almacenador de oxígeno basado en óxido de cerio y óxido de zirconio, estando la primera capa esencialmente exenta de alúmina. El material catalítico es eficaz para oxidar monóxido de carbono e hidrocarburos y reducir óxidos de nitrógeno de manera sustancial y simultánea.
