Abstract

스위칭소자인 박막 트랜지스터(40)상에 반사전극(38)을 형성할때, 불규칙한 복수의 철부(42a)위에 형성되어 철부(32a)에 대응한 철부(42b)를 갖는 유기절연막(42)을 형성하고, 그 위에 반사전극을 형성한다. 유기절연막(42)상에 반사전극을 형성하기 위해 박막 트랜지스터(40)의 영향을 받지 않고 인접한 반사전극(38)간의 절연성을 유지하는 범위에서 반사전극(38)을 크게 형성할 수 있어 개구율을 90%이상으로 할 수 있다.

제1도는 본 발명의 1 실시예인 반사형 액정표시장치(30)의 단면도,
제2도는 제1도에 도시한 기판(31)의 평면도,
제3도는 제1도 및 제2도에 도시한 철부(凸部)(42a)를 갖는 반사전극(38)을 형성하는 방법을 설명하는 공정도.

Claims (4)

  1. 액정층을 개재하여 대항배치되는 한쌍의 투명전극중, 한쪽 기관위의 액정층측 표면에는 다른쪽 기관으로부터의 입사광을 반사하는 표시화소인 복수의 반사전극과, 각 반사전극에 표시를 위한 전압을 인가하는 인회전극을 근성하고, 다른쪽 기판상의 액정층측 표면에는 거의 전면(全面)에 걸쳐 투광성을 갖는 공통전극을 형성하여 구성되는 반사형 액정표시장치에 있어서, 상기 반사전극은, 한쪽 기판상의 액정측에 있어서, 상기 인회전극을 포함하는 영역에 불규칙하게 배열된 복수의 철부(凸部)상에 형성된 절연막상에 형성되어 있고, 인접 반사전극이 서로 간극을 개재하도록 예정된 영역에 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 철부는 감광성수지로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정표시장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 철부는 불규칙하게 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정표시장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 철부는 크기가 다른 복수종류의 헝상을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정표시장치
