Claims (13)

  1. 영상을 표시하는 표시셀층과, 한쌍의 광학적으로 투명기판 사이에 배열되는 액정층을 포함하는 상기 표시셀층과, 상기 표시셀층의 각 외부표면의 측면에 배열되는 한쌍의 편광자와, 상기 액정 표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 액정 표시장치는 광이 시각 특성을 개선하도록 상기 표시셀층을 통하여 통과할 때 발생되는 지연 특성의 변화를 보상하는 광학 복굴절성을 가지는 지연 특성 보상층, 상기 편광자 사이와 상기 표시셀층의 두께의 방향으로 적어도 한쪽에 정렬되는 상기 지연 특성 보상층을 포함하고, 상기 지연 특성 보상층의 최대주요 굴절율의 방향이 상기 표시 셀층의 액정층의 광학축에 정상수직의 방향에 실질적으로 평행방향으로 향해져있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 지연 특성 보상층은 또 다른 한쌍의 광학적 투명기판 사이에 정렬되는 액정층을 포함하고, 그리고 액정 분자는 거기의 장축이 상기 광학적 투명기판의 각 표면에 실질적으로 수직이 되게 상기 지연특성 보상층의 상기 액정층에 정렬 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 복굴절성(△n1)과 상기 표시 셀층의 액정층의 두께(d1)와의 적인 지연특성(△n1.d1)그리고 복굴절성(△n1)과 상기 지연 특성 보상층의 액정층의 두께(d2)의 적인 지연특성(△n2.d2)는 다음 범위 내에, 0.3nms△n1.d10.6nms 그리고 0.05nms△n2.d20.3nms 오도록 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 지연 특성 보상층은 막 배치에서 소정의 방향으로 평행인 장축을 가지는 액정 분자로 구성하는 포리매틱 액정을 정형하여 만들어 지고, 그리고 지연 특성 보상측은 상기 포리머 액정재의 액정 분자의 장축이 상기 광학적 투명기판의 각 표면에 실질적으로 수직이 되게 정렬되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 표시셀층의 액정층의 액정은 직각으로 트위스트되고, 그리고 상기 편광은 서로가 직각으로 지교하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 표시셀층은 트위스트된 네마틱형 액정 표시장치에 의해 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 표시셀층은 슈퍼 트위스트네마틱형 액정 장치에 의해 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  8. 거기에 영상을 표시하는 표시셀층, 한쌍의 제1과 제2광학적 투명기판 사이에 정렬 되는 액정층을 포함하는 상기 표시셀층, 상기 표시셀층의 각 외부표면의 측명에 정렬되는 한쌍의 편광, 상기 표시 셀층의 광학 복굴절성에 의해 발생되는 정상광과 비정상광 사이의 위상차를 소거하는 한쌍의 제1과 제2위상차 소거막, 상기 제1광학적 투명기판과 상기 제1편광판 사이에 정렬되는 상기 제1위상차 소거막, 상기 제2공학적 투명 기판과 상기 제2편광판 사이에 정렬되는 상기 제2위상차 소거막을 구성하는 표시장치에 있어서, 상기 액정 표시장치는 더욱 시각 특성을 개선하게 상기 표시셀층을 통하여 광이 통과 할 때 발생되는 지연특성의 변화를 보상하는 광학적 복굴절성을 가지는 지연 특성 보상층, 상기 편광 사이와 그리고 상기 표시 셀층의 두께의 방향으로 적어도 한쪽에 정렬되는 상기 지연특성 보상층을 함유하고, 그리고 상기 지연 특성 보상층의 최대 주요 굴절율의 방향은 상기 표시 셀층의 상기 액정층의 광학축에 정상 수직의 방향으로 실질적으로 평행 방향으로 향하여진 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 지연 특성 보상층은 상기 제2위상차 소거막과 상기 제2편광 사이에 정렬되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  10. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 표시셀층은 트위스트 네마틱형 액정 표시 장치에 의해 구성되는 것에 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  11. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 표시 셀층을 슈퍼 트위스트 네마틱형 액정 표시 장치에 의해 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 액정층의 액정은 한쌍의 제1과 제2광학적 투명기판 사이의 240°의 각에서 트위스트 된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  13. 제8항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 제1과 제2위상차 소거막은 적층된 복수위상차 소거막으로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
