Abstract
Description
[0003]このため近年では,例えば特開2000−117820号公報に記載されているように,容器に付与する色彩につき,濃淡をつけて容器の装飾効果を高める,いわゆるクラデーション効果をもたせる手法が採用されるようになってきている。
[0004]上記公報に記載されている技術は,半透明の有色樹脂による射出時にパリソンに予め肉厚差を設け,その後ブローすることにより部分的に肉厚を異ならせようとするものである。この技術によれば,特別な工程を必要とせずに色の濃淡による模様を付与することができ,生産コストについても低く押さえることができると考えられていた。
[0005]ところで,上述した従来技術は,パリソン自体に肉厚差を設けてあるためブロー成形品もパリソンと同様の肉厚分布を持つこととなり,ブロー成形時の肉厚制御が難しいこと,また,肉厚がとくに薄くなる部分については,剛性が低下するので容器の強度影響を与えるとともに外界からのガス(酸素等)の侵入が容易になるため内容物の品質保持期間が短くなることも懸念され,良好な品質になる成形品を安定して得るのが難しく,また,全体的に剛性を維持しようとした場合には色の濃い部分の肉厚が要求される剛性以上に不必要に肉厚となりコストの上昇を招いてしまうところに問題を残しており,なお一層の改善が求められている。
[0007]本発明による積層成形体は,少なくとも2種類の樹脂素材の共押出しにより得たものであり,前記積層成形体の少なくとも一層が,その樹脂素材の押出し方向を基準とする所定の方向(例えば,押出し方向と平行な方向及び/又は押出し方向に対して交差する方向)に沿って連続的又は断続的に厚さを変動させた有色層よりなることを特徴とするものである。
[0008]また,本発明による積層成形体の製造方法は,少なくとも2種類の樹脂素材を共押出しして積層成形体を形成するにあたり,前記積層成形体の少なくとも一層として有色層を押出し,その有色層が,その樹脂素材の押出し方向を基準とする所定の方向(例えば,押出し方向と平行な方向及び/又は押出し方向に対して交差する方向)に沿って連続的又は断続的に変動する厚さを有するよう,該有色層の樹脂素材の押出し量を制御することを特徴とするものである。
[0009]本発明によれば,共押出しに際して有色層を形成する樹脂素材の供給量を調整することにより,美的外観の改善された積層成形体を容易かつ確実に得ることが可能である。また,有色層を構成する樹脂素材の厚さを所定の方向に沿って連続的又は断続的に変動させることにより,その所定の方向に有色層の濃淡が連続的又は断続的に変化する視覚的効果,いわゆるグラデーション効果が発現されるものである。例えば,有色層を構成する樹脂素材の厚さを押出し方向と平行な方向に変化させる場合には,有色層の濃淡が押出し方向と平行な方向に変化することとなる。また,有色層を構成する樹脂素材の厚さを押出し方向に対して交差する方向に変化させる場合には,有色層の濃淡が押出し方向と交差する方向に変化することとなる。
[0010]前記積層成形体は,全体の厚さが樹脂素材の押出し方向を基準とする前記所定の方向に沿ってほぼ均一であることが望ましい。すなわち,積層成形体全体の厚さが前記所定の方向に沿ってほぼ均一となるよう,有色層以外の少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し量を制御するのが望ましい。この場合には,有色層の厚さを変化させても積層成形体全体としては厚さがほぼ均一であるので,局所的に薄肉・肉厚部ができることもなく,強度的にも安定した品質の成形品を得ることができると共に,コスト上昇を押さえたグラデーション効果の高い積層成形体を提供することが可能となる。
[0011]上記の構成になる積層成形体において,有色層は積層成形体の厚さの50%以内で厚さを変動させたものであることが望ましい。
[0012]本発明による積層成形体は,二軸延伸ブロー成形の際に用いるブロープリフォームや共押出しされるパリソンにダイレクトブロー成形を施すことによって得られるボトル,あるいはダイレクトブローチューブ,更にはチューブ等の容器における胴部として有利に適用可能である。

[0021]上掲図1に示した成形品は,その押出し方向と平行な方向,すなわち口部から底部に向けて徐々に色が濃くなる色調を有するグラデーション効果の高い容器として構成されるため,容器の美的外観が著しく改善される。
[0022]このような容器を成形するに当たっては,異なる樹脂素材を同時に合流させるタイプ又は逐次に合流させるタイプの多層共押出しダイを使用することができる。
[0023]積層成形体における色の濃淡は,有色層を構成する樹脂の押出し量を適宜に制御することにより調整可能である。言うまでもなく,有色層の厚さが厚くなるほど色は濃くなり,薄くなるほど色は淡くなる。図1に示した容器の場合,その要部を拡大して図2に示すように,有色層2の厚さは底部から口部に向けて徐々に減少する肉厚分布を有することになり,また,内層としての本体部分1の厚さは底部から口部に向けて徐々に増大する肉厚分布を有することになる。
[0024]共押出しに際しては,樹脂素材の押出し量を制御することにより有色層2の厚さを適宜に変化させるものであるが,これに伴って有色層2に隣接する内層1の厚さも変化させる。したがって,積層成形体全体の厚さはほぼ一定であり,製品形状に起因する肉厚変化を除いて肉厚が極端に薄くなったり厚くなったりする箇所も生じることはない。
[0025]積層成形体を構成する材料はポリエチレン樹脂,ポリプロピレン樹脂等のオレフィン系樹脂,ポリエチレンテレフタレート樹脂(PET)等のポリエステル樹脂に加えバリア樹脂として,エチレンビニルアルコール共重合体(EVOH),あるいはナイロン等を使用することができる。
[0026]上述した構造の積層成形体は,内層としての本体部分1に対応する樹脂素材を供給するための流路と,本体部分1の外側に一体的に配置された有色層2に対応する樹脂素材を供給するための流路とを備えた成形装置を用い、これらの樹脂素材を共押出しすることによって成形することができる。
[0027]次に,図3〜図7に示す他の実施例に係る積層成形体について説明する。
[0028]本発明に従う積層成形体は,図3に示すように有色層2の外側に光沢材もしくはフロスト材からなる艶消し層3を設けることもでき,これにより色の濃淡のみならず,色調に変化を加えることができる。
[0029]また,本発明による積層成形体は,図4〜図7に例示するように,接着層と,酸素の透過を抑制するためのEVOHやメタキシリレン基含有ポリアミド等からなるバリア層とを設けた適宜の組み合わせとすることが可能である。すなわち,図4の実施例では,図3の実施例における有色層2と艶消し層3との間に接着層4を配置している。図5の実施例では,図1及び図2の実施例における内層としての本体部分1と有色層2との間に接着層4,バリア層5及び接着層4を順次に配置している。図6の実施例では,図5の実施例における内層としての本体部分1の内側にもバリア層5を配置している。更に,図7の実施例では,図6の実施例における本体部分1とその内側のバリア層5との間にも接着層4を配置している。さらには,既知の酸素吸収剤を含有させた層を設けることも可能である。層構成については上記以外にも用途に応じて適宜に変更することができ,この点に関しては特に限定されない。
[0030]有色層の厚さは,積層成形体全体の厚さの50%以内で変動させるのが望ましい。その理由は,有色層の肉厚変動性及び外観性のためである。なお,有色層の肉厚を変化させることにより多彩なグラデーション効果を発現させることが可能であるが,例えば上掲図2に示したところの本体部分1をも有色層としてこの本体部分1と有色層2とを重ね合わせた隣接配置型の層構成を採用するようにしてもよく、これによりグラデーション効果の変更に係わる選択の幅がより一層拡大される。
[0031]積層成形体に有色層が複数存在する層構成においては有色層を相互に重ね合わせた隣接配置型の他、有色層の相互間に接着層やバリア層あるいは艶消し層を挟んだ離隔配置型とすることも可能で、これによってもグラデーション効果の変更に係わる選択幅が拡大される。
[0032]図8及び図9は,本発明の更に他の実施例に係る積層成形体として2層ボトル型容器のブロー成形品を例示したものであり,図1及び図2におけると同一の参照数字は,同一又は対応する構成要素を表わすものである。本実施例では,容器本体1がその円周方向の半周に亙ってのみ有色層2を有し,残りの半周に亙っては有色層2が設けられていない。有色層2は,本体部分1の外側に一体的に配置されたものである。有色層2の厚さは,図9に示すとおり,一端部から中央部に向けて漸次に増加し,中央部から他端部に向けて漸次に減少する。したがって,有色層2は色調が一端部から中央部に向けて濃くなり,中央部から他端部に向けて淡くなる円周方向のグラデーション効果を発現するものである。
[0033]なお,図8及び図9に示す積層成形体は,例えば,内層としての本体部分1に対応する樹脂素材,有色層2に対応する樹脂素材との合流部における流路の断面形状を略三日月状とすることにより成形することが可能である。また,その合流部における流路の断面積を経時的に増減させるための適当な制御手段を設ける場合には,有色層2の厚さを押出し方向に対して交差する方向のみならず,押出し方向と平行な方向にも適宜に増減させることが可能であり、これにより多くのグラデーション模様が具現化できることになる。
[0034]有色層2の厚さを押出し方向に対して交差する方向及び押出し方向と平行な方向の二方向に増減させた本発明の実施例を図10に示す。
[0035]上述したところから明らかなとおり,本発明によれば,共押出しに際して有色層を形成する樹脂素材の供給量を調整するのみで美的外観の改善された積層成形体を容易かつ確実に得ることが可能である。また,積層成形体は有色層の厚さを変化させても全体の厚さtをほぼ一定としたため,局所的に薄肉・肉厚部ができることもなく,したがって強度的にも安定した品質の成形品を得ることができると共に,コスト上昇を抑えたグラデーション効果の高い積層成形体を提供することが可能である。
[0036]なお,本発明を好適な実施例について説明したが,その範囲を逸脱することなく上記以外の各種態様をもって実施し得ることは言うまでもない。
Claims (14)
- 少なくとも2種類の樹脂素材を共押出しして成形した積層成形体であって,前記積層成形体の少なくとも一層が,その樹脂素材の押出し方向を基準とする所定の方向に沿って連続的又は断続的に厚さを変動させた有色層よりなることを特徴とする積層成形体。
- 前記所定の方向が,積層成形体の前記少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し方向と平行な方向であることを特徴とする,請求項1記載の積層成形体。
- 所定の方向が,積層成形体の前記少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し方向と交差する方向であることを特徴とする,請求項1記載の積層成形体。
- 前記所定の方向が,積層成形体の前記少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し方向と平行な方向及び該押出し方向と交差する方向の二方向であることを特徴とする,請求項1記載の積層成形体。
- 前記積層成形体は,全体の厚さが前記所定の方向に沿ってほぼ一定であることを特徴とする,請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載の積層成形体。
- 前記有色層は,積層成形体の厚さの50%以内で厚さを変動させたものであることを特徴とする,請求項1〜5の何れか一項に記載の積層成形体。
- 前記積層成形体が,ブロープリフォーム,ダイレクトブローボトル,チューブ又はブローチューブであることを特徴とする請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載の積層成形体。
- 少なくとも2種類の樹脂素材を共押出しして積層成形体を形成するにあたり,
前記積層成形体の少なくとも一層として有色層を押出し,その有色層が樹脂素材の押出し方向を基準とする所定の方向に沿って連続的又は断続的に変動する厚さを有するよう,該有色層の樹脂素材の押出し量を制御することを特徴とする積層成形体の製造方法。 - 前記所定の方向を,積層成形体の前記少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し方向と平行な方向とすることを特徴とする,請求項8記載の製造方法。
- 前記所定の方向を,積層成形体の前記少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し方向と交差する方向とすることを特徴とする,請求項8記載の製造方法。
- 前期所定の方向を,積層成形体の前期少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し方向と平行な方向及び該押出し方向と交差する方向の二方向とすることを特徴とする,請求項8記載の製造方法。
- 前記積層成形体全体の厚さが前記所定の方向に沿ってほぼ一定となるよう,前記有色層以外の少なくとも一層の樹脂素材の押出し量を制御することを特徴とする,請求項8〜11の何れか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 前記有色層の厚さが,積層成形体全体の厚さの50%以内で変動するよう,該有色層の樹脂素材の押出し量を制御することを特徴とする,請求項8〜12の何れか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 前記積層成形体により,ブロープリフォーム,ダイレクトブローボトル,チューブ又はブローチューブを形成することを特徴とする請求項8〜13の何れか一項に記載の製造方法。
