Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は、マイクロ波・ミリ波等の高周波用に用いて
好適なプリント基板に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
出願人は、特願昭59−72472号出願において、四
弗化エチレン樹脂層に沿って多孔質四弗化エチレン樹脂
材を有する絶縁層を備えるプリント基板を、膨張や収縮
等の熱変化率の小さな高周波用プリント基板として提案
しており、また、このプリント基板の応用として、特開
昭6C1−225750号公報に示されるように、更に
電気的諸特性を向上u°シめるために、導電回路に沿っ
て延伸多孔質四弗化エチレン樹脂層を設けてなるプリン
ト基板を既に提唱しているが、これらのプリント基板は
、誘電体の両側に導電層として銅層を形成したものであ
り、屈曲させると、プリント基板自体で曲げ応力による
ストレスを解消出来ず、導電層である銅層に亀裂が生じ
る場合があるという欠点があった。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
本発明は上記した従来技術の欠点に鑑みなされたもので
、誘電体の両側に導電層を形成したプリント基板を屈曲
させてもプリント基板構成部材自体で曲げ応力によるス
トレスを解消して導電層に亀裂が生じないプリント基板
を提供しようとするものである。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
上記従来技術の問題点を解決するため本発明によれば、
可撓誘電体層と、この可撓誘電体層の少なくとも一方の
面に設けられる導電層とからなり、該導電層は可撓誘電
体層側のアルミニウム層とこのアルミニウム層の表面に
設けられた銅層よりなるプリント基板を構成する。
〔作用〕
本発明によれば、可撓誘電体層の少なくとも一方の面に
設けられた導電層は、誘電体側がアルミニウム層でこの
アルミニウム層の表面に銅層が設けられて構成される構
造のため、プリント基板を屈曲させることにより加わる
曲げ応力によるストレスは、アルミニウム特有の物性的
特徴である大きな伸び率によって吸収されることにより
亀裂は生じない。
また、アルミニウムは半田付けが困難な金属材料である
が、本発明によるプリント基板は上記したごとくアルミ
ニウム層の表面に銅層が設けられる構造のため、外部と
接するプリント基板の最外層は銅であり、プリント基板
上に素子を半田付けしていくことは、従来のプリントと
同様に容易に行なうことが出来るという作用・効果があ
る。
〔実施例〕
第1図は、本発明によるプリント基板の一実施例を示す
断面図である。第1図に基づいて説明すると、延伸多孔
質四弗化エチレン樹脂からなる可撓誘電体層2の両側に
接着層3.3を介して、アルミニウム層4,4および銅
層5,5を順次形成してなる導電層6,6を積層してプ
リント基板1を得る。
第2図は、本発明によるプリント基板7を折り曲げた時
の状態を示す断面図と、その時にプリント基板7に働く
応力を矢印で示したものである。
第2図に示すように、プリント基板7が曲げられた場合
、矢印に示す方向に応力を受け、それによって金属層1
2はストレスを受けるか、曲げによるストレスがより大
きい可撓誘電体層8側に接着層9を介してアルミニウム
層lOが形成されているため、矢印方向に働く応力によ
るストレスは、アルミニウム層10変形により吸収され
る。この際、銅層11は薄く形成されているため、アル
ミニウム層の変形によくなじみ、亀裂を生ずることは無
い。仮に亀裂を部分的に生じても導電性能はアルミニウ
ム層によって保たれるため失われることは無く、不良品
とはならない。
第3図は、本発明によるプリント基板13上に回路パタ
ーン14を設け、これに素子15を半田付けした状態を
示す斜視図である。第3図に示すようにプリント基板1
3の回路パターン14上に素子15を半田付けする場合
、可撓誘電体層16の両側に接着層17を介して形成せ
られる金属層18はアルミニウム層19が可撓誘電体層
16の側になり、銅層20が最外層となるため、従来の
プリント基板同様に容易に素子を半田21で取り付は出
来る。
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明したように、本発明によれば、可撓誘電体層の
両側に設けられた金属層は、誘電体側がアルミニウム層
でこのアルミニウム層の表面に銅層が設けられる構造の
ため、プリント基板を屈曲させたことにより加わる曲げ
応力によるストレスは、アルミニウム特有の物性的特徴
により吸収されてストレスが解消されるので金属層には
亀裂は生じない。
また、アルミニウムは半田付けが困難な金属材料であり
、直接素子等を装着していくことは困難であるが、本発
明では、アルミニウム層の表面に銅層を設けて金属層を
形成しているため、プリント基板の最外層は銅層であり
、プリント基板上に素子を半田付けによって装着してい
くことは、従来のプリント基板と同様に容易に行なうこ
とが出来る。
以上述べたように、本発明によるプリント基板は、従来
のプリント基板の特性を損なうことなく、可撓性をもっ
たプリントの基板の製造を可能にし、可撓性を要求され
る配線のコンパクト化の推進、耐久性向上、およびそれ
に伴う信頼性向上に大いに寄与した。
なお、本発明は上記実施例に限定されるものではなく、
可撓誘電体層と金属層との接続方法、導電層の構造等に
おいて本発明の技術思想内での種々の変更はもちろん可
能である。

第1図は本発明によるプリント基板lの−実施例を示す

の状態を示す断面図と、その時プリント活板に働く応力

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)可撓誘電体層とこの可撓誘電体層の少なくとも一
    方の面に設けられる金属層とからなり、該金属層は内側
    のアルミニウム層とこのアルミニウム層の表面に設けら
    れた銅層よりなるプリント基板。
