Description
【考案の詳細な説明】
本考案は、合成樹脂製本管に分岐継手を融着接
合する際に、本管外周とサドル鍔部の接合面との
間に気泡を介在させることなく強固な融着接合が
得られる分岐継手に関する。

従来、合成樹脂製本管の適所から枝管を取出す
場合、本管と同種の合成樹脂からなる分岐継手を
本管外周に融着接合し、この分岐継手を介して枝
管を接合する方法がとられている。

この場合、第4図に正面図で示すように、本管
1の外周円弧と同じ曲率半径の凸面A1と凹面A2
とを有する加熱板Aを用い、凹面A2を本管1の
外周に接触させると共に、凸面A1を分岐継手2
のサドル鍔部21に接触させて両接合面を同時に
加熱溶融させたのち、加熱板Aを取り除き、両接
合面を圧接して融着接合していた。

ところが、本管1の外周にサドル鍔部21を圧
接した際に両接合面間に空気を巻き込み、この空
気が完全に抜けきらないまま接合されることがあ
り、かかる場合には融着不良となつて分岐継手2
と接続した枝管に曲げモーメントが作用した際に
この融着部分で剥離することがあつた。

本考案は、かかる従来分岐継手の欠点を解消し
たものであつて、分岐継手のサドル鍔部を本管外
周に圧接して融着接合する際に、両接合面に巻き
込んだ空気の抜けを完全にして強固な融着接合が
得られる分岐継手を提供するものである。

この通気孔211の形状、大きさ、設定位置等
は、特に限定されるものではなく、鍔部21に設
ける通気孔の個数と併せて適宜選定すればよい。
要するに、この通気孔211は、サドル鍔部21
の接合面、及び、本管1の外周を同時に加熱溶融
して両接合面を圧接した際に、両接合面間に巻き
込んだ空気がこの通気孔211を介して完全に抜
け出せるような機能を有するものであればよい。
従つて、この通気孔211をテーパ形状とするこ
とも可能であり、更には、サドル鍔部21の接合
面に溝を設け、この溝を通気孔211と連通させ
て空気の抜け出し効果を助長するようにしてもよ
い。

本考案の分岐継手は以上の如き構造を有するも
のであつて、本管との接合は、第4図の従来接合
法で説明したような加熱板を用い、本管1の外周
及びサドル鍔部21の接合面を同時に加熱溶融し
たのち、両接合面を圧接することによつて行う。
このとき、第3図に示すように、両接合面間に介
在していた空気は通気孔211を介して完全に抜
け出すので、両接合面間に気泡が介在することは
全くなく、融着接合が確実に行える。しかも、空
気が通気孔211を介して抜け出したのちは、該
通気孔211内に本管外周の溶融樹脂が充満し、
この樹脂が固化したときにアンカー効果を奏する
ことになるので、本管と分岐継手との接合が一層
強固となり、枝管接続部22に接続した枝管に曲
げモーメントが作用した際にもこの接合部で剥離
することがない。

強固となり、枝管接続部22に接続した枝管に曲
げモーメントが作用した際にもこの接合部で剥離
することがない。
以上詳述した如く、本考案の分岐継手は、サド
ル鍔部に接合面から鍔部上面に貫通した通気孔を
設けたので、本管外周との接合面に気泡を介在さ
せることなく確実、かつ強固な融着接合が得られ
るものである。また、本管外周とサドル鍔部の接
合面とが間隙になく完全に密着して融着接合する
ので、この融着接合部から管内流体が漏洩する恐
れも全くない。

Claims (1)
- 一端に枝管接続部を有し、また他端にサドル鍔
部を有し、該サドル鍔部の接合面と合成樹脂製本
管の外周とを加熱溶融して双方の接合面同志を押
付けて融着接合する合成樹脂製分岐継手におい
て、前記サドル鍔部には接合面から鍔部上面に貫
通した通気孔を設けたことを特徴とする分岐継
手。
