Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は加熱融着によるプラスチツク管の接合
方法の改良に関するものである。
プラスチツク管を接合する場合、加熱融着を使
用することがあり、この方法によれば、パツキン
グを使用する方法のように、パツキング材に制限
されることなく、管の特性を有効に発揮できる
(例えば、管の材質自体が著しく秀れた耐薬品性
を備えていても、パツキングがそのパツキング性
並びに耐薬品性の双方を満し得ない場合にパツキ
ング材によつて輸送液体が制限されるといつたこ
とがない)、接着剤による接合が至難なポリオレ
フイン系プラスチツク管の接合にも適用できると
いつた利点がある。
従来、プラスチツク管の加熱融着接合には、第
1図に示すように、内面を加熱溶融させたプラス
チツクスリーブ1に、外面を加熱溶融させたプラ
スチツク管端部2′を圧入する方法が用いられて
いる。しかしながら、この方法では、スリーブに
管端部を圧入する際に、溶融プラスチツクがスリ
ーブの奥方に押し出され、スリーブの奥方にビー
ド3′が発生し、管路の流通抵抗が往々にして著
しく増大するといつた不利がある。
本発明に係るプラスチツク管の接合方法は、上
記ビードの発生を充分に軽減してプラスチツク管
を加熱融着により接合できる方法であり、スリー
ブ部の先端にフランジ部を有するプラスチツク製
継手を互に接合すべきプラスチツク管の各端部に
スリーブ部において加熱融着し、両継手のフラン
ジ部を突合せて加熱融着することを特徴とする方
法である。
以下、図面により本発明を説明する。
第2図A乃至第2図Cにおいて、1,1は互に
接続すべきプラスチツク管である。2はスリーブ
部21の先端にフランジ部22を有するプラスチ
ツク製継手である。
本発明を実施するには、まず、第2図Aに示す
ように各管1の端部に、継手2をスリーブ部21
において加熱融着する。この加熱融着は、継手の
スリーブ部内面並びに管端部外面をそれぞれ加熱
治具により加熱溶融させ、この溶融状態のもとで
継手のスリーブ部を管端部に圧入することによつ
て行い、通常、工場内で予め行つておく。
この加熱融着においては、第2図Aに示すよう
に、既述したビード3が発生するが、このビード
3は切断除去する。この除去は、ビードが継手口
の近傍にあるので、容易に行うことができる。
次いで、第2図Bに示すように、継手2,2の
フランジ部22,22の間に平板ヒータ4を挾
み、各フランジ面を加熱溶融させ、而るのち、平
板ヒータ4を外して、第2図Cに示すように、継
手2,2のフランジ面を突合せ融着する。これら
の作業は現場作業である。
継手のフランジ面の融着時、その加圧力のため
に溶融プラスチツクがフランジ内周側並びに外周
側に向つて移動するが、その流動路がフランジ外
周側に至るほど広くなる外広がりの場合であるか
ら、内周側への流動量は少なく、フランジ内周で
のビード3の発生は充分に径減できる。又、平板
ヒータを取り外したのち、フランジ面を直に突合
せることができ、融着時までの加熱溶融面の冷却
も殆どないので、作業性も良好である。
上記において、第3図Aに示すように、フラン
ジ部22の内周に切欠部220を設け、この切欠
部220に上記流動プラスチツクを溜めるように
すれば、ビードの発生を一層に軽減できる。又、
継手フランジ部22,22を突合せる際の芯出し
を容易に行い得るように、第3図Bに示すよう
に、芯出用ガイド221とこれに対応するガイド
溝222とを設けることもできる。又、フランジ
部22,22の接合面積を広くするために、第3
図Cに示すように、リング状の凹凸223,22
4,………を設けることもできる。
上述した通り、本発明に係るプラスチツク管の
接合方法によれば、ビードの発生を充分に軽減し
てプラスチツク管を加熱融着法により接合でき
る。従つて、通水性に支障をきたすことなく、プ
ラスチツク管を加熱融着法により接合でき、特
に、ポリオレフイン系プラスチツク管の接合に有
用である。

第1図は従来のプラスチツク管の接合方法を示
す説明図、第2図A、第2図B並びに第2図Cは
本発明に係るプラスチツク管の接合方法の作業手
順を示す説明図、第3図A、第3図B並びに第3
図Cは本発明の別実施例をそれぞれ示す説明図で
ある。 図において、1,1はプラスチツク管、2,2
はプラスチツク製継手、21はスリーブ部、22
はフランジ部である。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 スリーブ部の先端にフランジ部を有するプラ
    スチツク製継手を互に接合すべきプラスチツク管
    の各端部にスリーブ部において加熱融着し、両継
    手のフランジ部を突合せて加熱融着することを特
    徴とするプラスチツク管の接合方法。
