Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はスチームアイロンの給水装置に関するもので、
水タンクを備えた給水台にアイロンを設置することによ
りアイロンタンクの規定水量まで補給するようにしたも
のである。
従来のスチームアイロンはアイロンかけ作業を始める前
に規定量を注水するもので、−回の注水で使用できる時
間は限られているため、長時間アイロンがけを行う場合
はアイロンかけ作業を中断し水を注ぎ足さなければなら
ず非能率的である。
またこのよう、な作業中における再注水の頻度を少なく
するために、アイロンのタンク容量を大きくすることも
考えられるが、必然的にアイロン本体が大型化し、使い
勝手を損う等の欠点があった。
本発明は以上のような従来の欠点を解消したもので、以
下その一実施例を添付図により説明する。
図において、１はヒータ２を有するアイロンのベースで
、気化室３を形成している。４は上記気化室３の上方に
形成したタンクで、ノズル６を介して前記気化室３と連
通している。上記気化室３にて発生したスチｌ−ムはア
イロンベース１の下面に設けられたスチーム噴出穴６か
ら外部へ放出される。
７は前記タンク４に設けられた注水口で、逆止弁バネ８
、逆止弁ボール９により常時閉塞するように構成されて
おり、アイロンの後面に設けられている。上記注水ロア
のガイド部１ｏには給水台１７に設けられた導水管１１
の給水口１２が入り込み、同給水口１２によ゛シ逆止弁
ボール９を押し上げることによって、タンク４への給水
を可能に３ するものである。なお、上記給水口１２はゴムなどの弾
性材でつくられている。１３−は導水管１１に連結され
、その上端部を給水口１２によっ毛謙った制止弁で、そ
の内部には制止弁バネ１４によって制止弁ボール１５を
付勢して弁部を構成している。上記制止弁ボール１５は
給水台１７の載置部１７ａに置かれたアイロンの自重に
よって、給水口１２の台部１ｅを変位させることにより
制止弁バネ１４に抗して押し下げられる。したがって、
給水台１ｆに設けられた給水室１８とアイロンのタンク
４が導水管１１によって連通され、上記給水室１８の水
位までタンク４内に水が供給される。
そしてこの給水室１８はその上方に設けた大容量の水タ
ンク１９と給水部１９ａによって連結されており、アイ
ロンを載置部１了ａに設置した状態において、アイロン
のタンク４の規定水位と同一の水位に調節されるように
構成している。即ち給水部１９−ａの開口はアイロンの
タンク４の規定水位線上に設けられておシ、この給水部
１９ａが水位面にひたっている時、水タンク１９内の水
は水タンク１９内の空気圧と給水室１８の水面にががる
大気圧とのバランスが保たれるために給水室１８へ供給
されることがなくその水位が維持さ・れる。
そしで載置部１７ａにアイロンを設置し、導水管１１を
通してタンク４内に補給されると、給水室１８の水位が
低下し、上記給水部１９ａが水面よシ出るため給水部１
９ａを介して空気の置換が行われる。
じたがって、水タンク１９の水が給水室１８に供給され
、その水面によって閉塞されるまで給水室１８の水位が
上昇し、常に一定水位に保たれるものである。
以上のように本発明は、給水台に設けた給水室の水位を
アイロンタンクの規定水位と常に一定に保つように形成
した給水台にアイロンを設置することによって、アイロ
ンタンク内にその規定水量が自動的に供給できるもので
ある。
したがってアイロンかけ作業中の小休止時にアイロンを
給水台に設置することにょシ使用した水量の補給がその
都度行われ、アイロンの夕／り容量をコンパクト化でき
るのでアイロン本体の軽量小型化が実現できる。そのた
め、アイロンの使い勝手は飛躍的に向上できるとともに
、従来の注水操作もなくなり能率的であるなどの効果を
有する。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 水タンクと、この水タンクと連通ずる給水室と、アイロ
    ンの載置部とを有する給水台と、この載置台に設置する
    ことによって前記給水室と連通ずるスチームアイロンと
    を備え、上記スチームアイロンの規定水位と前記給水室
    の水位とを同一に設定−したスチームアイロンの給水装
    置。
