Abstract
PURPOSE:To form the electrostatic latent image of an optical image sent from an original, by transferring a polarized latent image corresponding to the optical image formed in a photosensitive layer to a dielectric layer as a reversal image, and erasing the polarization in the photosensitive layer in the next step. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor consists of 3 layers: an electrode 1, a photosensitive layer 2 formed on the electrode 1, and a dielectric layer 3 formed on the layer 2. When the photoreceptor passes through the electric field of a positive corona discharger for a time of t1+t2, each of potential share (polarization) become curves V12, V3 and their synthetic potential is shown as a curve V0. After then, the photoreceptor surface is irradiated with light from a lamp, the light is transmitted by the transparent dielectric layer 3, it reaches the layer 2 to give conductivity to the layer 2, neutralizing the polarized charge and erasing the potential, and the potential of the layer 3 is extracted, thus permitting an electrostatic latent image to be formed by scanning the photoreceptor with an optical image synchronously and subjecting it to a necessary step.
