Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the copying rate and to form an excellent dichroically separated image by applying bias voltages of different polarities to first and second developing devices.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a photosensitive drum 9, in which a first photoconductive layer 11 having sensitivity for two kinds of lights A and B and a second photoconductive layer 12 having sensitivity only for the light B while allowing the light A to pass therethrough are laminated upon a conductive substate 10, is subjected to an optical image 15 having optical components A and B thereby to form an electrostatic latent image. In a red toner developer 7, a first development is accomplished, whereupon a negative bias voltage v1 is applied by a bias voltage 16. Then, a second development is accomplished by a black toner developer 8, whereupon a positive bias voltage v2 is applied by a bias power source 17. Then, transfer is effected to a copy paper 20 by a transfer charger 19 after having passed through a pretransfer charger 18.
