Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the decrease in density, image deformation, etc. by transferring one of two color latent image of opposite polarities on a photoreceptor to an image carrier, developing these to visible images respectively, re-charging the visible images of the image carrier to the same polarity, transferring the images onto the photoreceptor then transferring the same to recording paper.
CONSTITUTION: After electrostatic latent images are formed on a photoreceptor 1, the electrostatic latent image portions by the photoreceptor surface potential distribution of negative polarity corresponding to the red color images of one side are transferred to a dielectric latent image carrier 4. The latent image portions are charged positive and are developed by the toner TB having been colored to a red color. The latent iamge portions corresponding to the black color images of the photoreceptor 1 are made visible by the toner TA. Next, the visible images on the latent carrier 4 is charged to opposite negative polarity by a charger 5. The visible images are then transferred from the latent image carrier 4 onto the photoreceptor 1. The two color visible images having been carried on the photoreceptor 1 are then transferred onto a recording sheet S and are fixed, whereby the two color copying images corresponding to the original are obtained.
