Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent transfer image in a simple device, eliminating disturbance of the image, without requiring precharging, by transferring the developed image on a carrier formed by toner of two colors charged in reverse polarity each other by using AC electric field.
CONSTITUTION: On the surface of a photoreceptor 1 on which are formed a positive electrostatic latent image corresponding to black color image and a negative electrostatic latent image corresponding to red color image, a black color toner negatively charged is supplied from a first developing apparatus 5, and the electostatic latent image corresponding to the black color image is developed, and then a red color toner positively charged is supplied from a second developing apparatus 6, and the electrostatic latent image corresponding to the red color image is developed. A transfer paper 7 sent out from a paper feed cassette is laid over this developed image, and AC electric field periodically inverting to positive and negative polarity is applied by corona discharge from behind thereof by a corona discharger 9 connected to an AC high voltage power source 8, and the negative black color toner image is transferred on the transfer paper 7 when the field is positive, and the positive, and the positive red color toner image is transferred thereon when the field is negative.
