Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a fog-free 2-color image, by forming electrostatic latent images reverse to each other in polarity corresponding to both the A and B color parts of a 2-color original on a photoreceptor, developing them with different polarity toners, uniformly exposing them, carrying out AC corona discharge superposed by DC components same in polarity as the potentials of the photoreceptor in order to transfer the toner images. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor consisting of a substrate 1, a photosensitive layer 2, and an insulating layer 3 is charged, imagewise exposed through a red- cut filter, and simultaneously charged to reverse polarity, imagewise exposed through a red filter, and voltage becomes + on the black part B, - on the red part R, and about 0 volt on the white part W. Then, it is developed with a reverse-polarity toner, uniformly exposed to reverse the latent image on the part B, and subjected to AC corona discharge superposed by DC voltage same in polarity as the black and red potentials, thus permitting fog toner on the nonimage area not to be transferred even in transferring the black and red toners on the image area, and a fog-free image to be obtained.
