Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a regular development in case of a copying mode and a reverse development in case of a printer mode selectively, by using a photoreceptor having optical sensitivity to bipolar electric charge and changing over a latent image forming means. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor 1 has a light conductive layer having optical sensitivity to positive and negative polarity of electric charge. A latent image forming means for copying consists of a corona discharging device 2 charging positively to the photoreceptor 1 and an exposing device 4 for copying. A latent image forming means for printer consists of a corona discharging device 3 charging negatively to the photoreceptor and an optical image scanning device 5 for printer. By changing over latent image forming means for a copying mode and a printer mode which are formed by the above-mentioned arrangements, charge characteristics of both modes of electrostatic latent images become opposite. Then, a regular development in case of a copying mode and a reverse development in case of a printer mode are performed selectively by a developing device 6.
