Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain plural copies superior in resolution and etc. with one formation of a latent image, by repeating charging and irradiation of an optical image on a photoreceptor, where a conductive supporting material, an insulating layer, and a photoconductive layer are formed in order, under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor 11 where an insulating layer 13 and a photoconductive layer 14 are formed in order on a conductive supporting material 12 is produced. The primary charging (negative charging due to a corona charger 21) is performed for the photoreceptor simultaneously with or after the irradiation of the primary optical image (shown by arrows). Next, the charging with the polarity opposite to that of the primary charging is performed while irradiating the inverted image of the primary optical image. Next, the primary optical image is irradiated again. Thus, latent images of positive and negative charge patterns are formed on both surfaces of the insulating layer 13. Latent images where light parts L3 and dark parts D3 of the primary optical image are different in polarity are obtained. Since a toner and a copy paper are not directly brought into contact with electrostatic charge, many copied pictures with good contrast and resolving power are obtained with one formation of the latent image.
