Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform many sheets of copying having no photographic fogs through one time of picture exposure by maintaining one side of an electrically conductive screen conductive, forming a photoconductive member on the opposite side and an insulation member thereon and performing primary charging, reverse polarity charging, and picture exposure by uniform light irradiation over the entire surface. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor of which the upper side is made conductive is made by such a method of exposing the upper side surface of a conductive member 2 of metal or the like of a screen 1 and forming a photoconductive layer 3 and a transparent layer 4 on the bottom surface of a member 2. Negative polarity charging is performed by a corona wire 5 from the insulation layer 4 side of a photoreceptor 1, after which charging of reversed polarity is applied with a corona wire 7, then an original image 10 is exposed. Thence, uniform exposure 12 is applied over the entire surface. In this way, the 1st latent image is formed on the screen 1 in accordance with the bright part and dark part D of the original image 10. Next, ion current 18 is fed by a corona wire 14, and is modulated with the 1st latent image, whereby the 2nd latent image having no photographic fogs is obtained on recording paper 15. Ion current modulation is performed repeatedly, whereby many sheets of the same copy are obtained.
