Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the transfer efficienty when the one component insulating toner is transferred to the transfer paper from a photoreceptor, by carrying out the development twice and applying an AC bias in the 2nd development. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic brush development is carried out twice by the 1st and 2nd developing devices 8 and 9 with the use of one component magnetic toners 3 and 12. The bias voltage V1 containing the AC component and the DC component approximate to the earth potential is applied to a sleeve 10 from a bias power source 13. Thus the transfer efficiency is increased in comparison with the development performed by the 1st developing device only. In case when the bias voltage V is biased to an electrostatic latent image 2 in terms of the same polarity in comparison with a toner picture 14, the fog of a toner picture 15 can be effectively reduced: while the concentration of the picture 15 is effectively increased in the contrary case. The development can be done twice with the same developing device instead of two different devices.
