Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent excess development by developing a latent image in a pulse bias applied region using the toner which has passed by a grounded first electrode and a DC and AC voltage applied second electrode.
CONSTITUTION: First grounded electrode 6 and second electrode 9 connected to an injection power source consisting of DC source 7 and further AC source 8 are installed to inject charge into toner 4 fed from toner case 5. Photoreceptor 1 and sleeve 2 are connected via a bias source consisting of DC source 10 and pulse source 11. Toner 4 having passed by electrodes 6, 9 successively is supplied to an electrostatic latent image surface in a pulse bias applied region to develop the image, permitting excess development to be prevented because toner charge has a distribution corresponding to the pulse cycle of pulse bias.
