Abstract
1373617 Electro-photographic apparatus EASTMAN KODAK CO 14 Dec 1971 [14 Dec 1970] 57975/71 Heading G2H [Also in Division B6] An electro-photographic printing machine comprises a photo-conductive member 1, which may be an endless belt, comprising a photoconductive surface-layer 2 and a light-transmitting conducting layer 3. Latent images are formed on the member, and developed by application of a toner. The developed images are transferred to a receiver 18 by being electrostatically charged, together with the surface-layer 2, by a corona discharge device 28, then brought into contact with the receiver at a nip between a transparent cylinder 4 and an oppositely electrostatically charged roller 24. A lamp 30 within the cylinder 4 causes the surface-layer 2 to become entirely conductive, and so discharge all charges on its surface, leaving only the developed images charged. Alternatively the lamp may be in the roller 24.
