Abstract
電気的に定量するバイオセンサに関し、特に電極の構成
を改善して応答特性を良くする。 【解決手段】 絶縁性の基板1に、蒸着やスパッタリン
グあるいは金属泊を接着することにより、金属膜11を
全面に形成する。これをスリット12により分割しカバ
ー8を配置する。液体試料の適用される測定電極4と対
電極5上に試薬層6を形成する。両電極を従来のように
印刷によらず形成しているので、印刷のにじみやだれが
なく、応答特性のばらつきはなくなる。
Description
用いて、その試料中の特定成分を迅速かつ簡易に定量す
ることのできるバイオセンサに関する。
中のグルコース濃度を測定するものとして、例えば特開
平5−256811号公報に記載されたようなものがあ
る。これは図3の分解斜視図に示すように、絶縁性の基
板1上にスクリーン印刷により導電性ペーストを印刷し
て、これを加熱乾燥し、リード部2,3を有する測定電
極4と対電極5を形成している。測定電極4、対電極5
上には、酵素としてグルコースオキシターゼや電子受容
体としてフェリシアン化カリウム等からなる試薬層6を
形成している。そして切欠7を有するスペーサ8を介し
て、空気穴9を有するカバー10で覆った構成となって
いる。
成されるキャピラリの一端に血液を点着すると、他端を
空気穴9とするキャピラリ内に血液が吸引され、試薬が
溶解して酸化還元反応が起こる。このとき測定電極4と
対電極5に、リード部2,3を介して電圧を印加する
と、グルコース濃度に比例した電流が得られ、血糖値が
測定される。
のバイオセンサにおいては、電極をスクリーン印刷にて
形成しているため、印刷時の導電性ペーストのにじみに
よって、測定電極の面積にばらつきが発生し、応答特性
に影響を与える問題がある。このためスクリーン印刷に
代わり、作製が簡単で精度の良いバイオセンサの開発が
望まれている。
に本発明のバイオセンサは、絶縁性の基板の一表面全面
に形成した金属膜にスリットを形成して分割し、これら
分割された金属膜にて、液体試料が適用される測定電極
及び対電極、並びにこれら両電極に電圧を印加するため
のリード部を形成するようカバーを設け、前記測定電極
及び対電極上を試薬層で覆ってなるものである。これに
より電極の面積がばらつくことのないバイオセンサを実
現することを目的とする。

電極や対電極の面積が、スクリーン印刷のにじみやだれ
等によってばらつくことはないので、応答特性にばらつ
きは生じない。

上面を上カバーで覆って、バイオセンサ本体の両側方に
開口を有するキャピラリを構成したことを特徴とする請
求項1記載のバイオセンサにあり、一定量の液体試料が
キャピラリ内に吸引されるため、上記請求項1に記載の
センサにくらべ精度がよく、またキャピラリの開口がセ
ンサ側方に形成されるためどちらからでも液体試料液を
注入することができ、使いやすいものである。

従来の構成と実質的に同じものについては、同一符号を
付して説明する。

基板であり、11はその表面全面に形成した金属膜であ
る。金属膜11は、蒸着やスパッタリング、あるいは金
属箔を接着することにより形成することができる。
平行に延びる2本のスリット12をレーザ等により形成
することにより、金属膜11を3つの領域に分割してい
る。
上を横断するように2枚のカバー8を設け、液体試料が
適用される測定電極4及び対電極5、並びにこれら両電
極に電圧を印加するためのリード部2,3を形成してい
る。なおこのとき対電極5の幅は、センサの性能の点
で、測定電極4の幅と同等または広くするのが望まし
い。

印加すると、グルコース濃度に比例した電流が発生し、
血糖値を測定することができる。

のバイオセンサのカバー8上に、さらに上カバー10を
設けて、キャピラリ13を構成したことを特徴としてい
る。この構成によれば、一方の開口から血液を点着する
と、残る一方の開口が空気穴となって、毛細管現象によ
って一定量の血液を吸引することができ、上述の図1の
センサに比べより性能がよくなる。またこの構成であれ
ば、左右どちらの開口からでも液体試料を注入させるこ
とができ、従来のものに比べより使いやすくなるもので
ある。
基板上に、蒸着やスパッタリング、あるいは金属箔を接
着して形成した金属膜に、レーザなどによりスリットを
形成して、測定電極と対電極を作成しているので、スク
リーン印刷のように印刷のにじみなどがなく、精緻に電
極の面積を規定することができる。このため各センサご
とに応答特性がばらつくことはなく、精度のよいセンサ
を実現できる。また一定量の液体試料を吸引するキャピ
ラリを、その開口のどちらからでも液体試料を点着可能
に構成しているのでより使いやすいものである。

Claims (2)
- 【請求項1】絶縁性の基板の一表面全面に形成した金属
膜にスリットを形成して分割し、これら分割された金属
膜にて、液体試料が適用される測定電極及び対電極、並
びにこれら両電極に電圧を印加するためのリード部を形
成するようカバーを設け、前記測定電極及び対電極上を
試薬層で覆ってなるバイオセンサ。 - 【請求項2】前記金属膜を横断して延びるカバーを分割
して設け、その上面を上カバーで覆って、バイオセンサ
本体の両側方に開口を有するキャピラリを構成したこと
を特徴とする請求項1記載のバイオセンサ。
