Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.耐酸化性に優れた材料からなる医療用高分子埋め込み具の製法において、 高分子材料から埋め込み具を成型し、 成型した埋め込み具を、酸素を減少させた雰囲気内でパッケージ内にシールし 、 前記パッケージした埋め込み具を放射線滅菌し、そして、 前記パッケージした埋め込み具を、隣接する高分子鎖のフリー・ラジカル間の 架橋を形成するのに十分な、予め設定した時間及び温度で加熱する工程からなる 埋め込み具の製法。 2.前記予め設定した温度が、約37℃から約70℃である請求項1記載の埋め 込み具の製法。 3.前記予め設定した時間が、少なくとも48時間である請求項2記載の埋め込 み具の製法。 4.前記予め設定した温度が50℃であり、前記予め設定した時間が144時間 である請求項3記載の埋め込み具の製法。 5.前記高分子材料が、400,000から10,000,000の分子量を持 つ超高分子量ポリエチレンである請求項1記載の埋め込み具の製法。 6.前記予め設定した温度が50℃であり、前記予め設定した時間が144時間 である請求項5記載の埋め込み具の製法。 7.前記放射線滅菌が、ガンマ線、X線、または電子線によって行われる請求項 1記載の埋め込み具の製法。 8.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気が、1%以下の酸素を含む雰囲気である請求項 1記載の埋め込み具の製法。 9.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気が、窒素、ヘリウム、アルゴン、ネオン、及び それらの混合物からなる群から選択されるガスからなる請求項8記載の埋め込み 具の製法。 10.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気が、水銀柱3インチ未満の真空で形成される 請求項8記載の埋め込み具の製法。 11.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気でのシールが、まず、窒素、ヘリウム、アル ゴン、ネオン、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるガスでパッケージ 内をフラッシングし、次いで、そのパッケージ内を水銀柱3インチ未満の真空に し、さらにそのパッケージを前記の群から選択されるガスでフラッシングするこ とによって行われる請求項8記載の埋め込み具の製法。 12.1×1017/g未満のフリー・ラジカル濃度を持つ高分子鎖からなる高分 子材料で形成される医療用埋め込み具において、 前記フリー・ラジカルが酸化される前に、該埋め込み具を、酸素を減少させた 雰囲気内で、約37℃から約70℃の温度で少なくとも48時間加熱することに よって得られる医療用埋め込み具。 13.前記高分子材料が、400,000から10,000,000の分子量を 持つポリエチレンである請求項12記載の医療用埋め込み具。 14.医療用埋め込み具用の耐酸化性に優れた高分子原材料をプラスチック樹脂 粉末から製造する製法において、 前記樹脂を密封容器内に配置し、 この密封容器から、酸素を実質的に取り除き、 前記密封容器内を、窒素、ヘリウム、アルゴン、ネオン、及びそれらの混合物 からなる群から選択されるガスで再加圧し、 次いで前記樹脂を成型装置に移し、酸素を減少した雰囲気中で前記樹脂を溶融 及び成型して原材料を製造し、 その後、前記原材料を、予め設定した温度で、予め設定した時間アニールする 工程からなる製法。 15.前記密封容器内の酸素含有量が1%未満である請求項14記載の製法。 16.前記成型装置が、酸素1%未満の雰囲気下で作動する請求項15記載の製 法。 17.前記樹脂材料が、400,000から10,000,000の分子量を持 つポリエチレンである請求項14記載の製法。 18.前記容器から酸素を取り除く方法が、真空化、不活性ガスによるフラッシ ング、酸素吸収剤の使用、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される請 求項14記載の製法。 19.前記アニール工程が、酸素を減少させた雰囲気下で、約37℃から約13 5℃の温度で少なくとも4時間行われる請求項14記載の製法。 20.耐酸化性に優れた医療用埋め込み具をプラスチック樹脂粉末から製造する 製法において、 前記樹脂を密封容器内に配置し、 この密封容器から、酸素を実質的に取り除き、 前記密封容器内を、窒素、ヘリウム、アルゴン、ネオン、及びそれらの混合物 からなる群から選択されるガスで再加圧し、 次いで前記樹脂を成型装置に移し、酸素を減少した雰囲気中で前記樹脂を溶融 及び成型して原材料を製造し、 その後、前記原材料を、予め設定した温度で、予め設定した時間アニールし、 前記高分子原材料から埋め込み具を成型し、 成型した埋め込み具を、酸素を減少させた雰囲気内でパッケージ内にシールし 、 前記パッケージした埋め込み具を放射線滅菌し、そして、 前記パッケージした埋め込み具を、隣接する高分子鎖のフリー・ラジカル間の 架橋を形成するのに十分な、予め設定した時間及び温度で加熱する工程からなる 埋め込み具の製法。 21.前記容器から酸素を取り除く方法が、真空化、不活性ガスによるフラッシ ング、酸素吸収剤の使用、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される請 求項20記載の製法。 22.前記アニール工程が、酸素を減少させた雰囲気下で、約37℃から約13 5℃の温度で少なくとも4時間行われる請求項20記載の製法。 23.耐酸化性に優れた医療用高分子埋め込み具材料の製法において、 高分子材料から埋め込み具を成型し、 成型した埋め込み具を、酸素を減少させた雰囲気内でパッケージし、 前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気を維持しながら前記パッケージした埋め込み具を 放射線滅菌し、そして、 前記パッケージした埋め込み具を、前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気を維持しなが ら、約37℃から約70℃の温度で少なくとも48時間加熱する製法。 24.前記高分子材料が、400,000から10,000,000の分子量を 持つ超高分子量ポリエチレンである請求項23記載の製法。 25.前記予め決められた温度が50℃であり、前記予め設定した時間が144 時間である請求項23記載の製法。 26.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気が、1%以下の酸素を含む雰囲気である請求 項19記載の製法。 27.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気が、窒素、ヘリウム、アルゴン、ネオン、及 びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるガスからなる請求項26記載の製法 。 28.前記酸素を減少させた雰囲気が、水銀柱3インチ未満の真空で形成される 請求項26記載の製法。 29.前記加熱工程が、不活性ガス雰囲気中で行われる請求項23記載の製法。
