Abstract
Description
Claims (15)
- 1.重合体状吸着剤及びイオン交換樹脂に好適な橋かけ結合した共重合体ビーズ を製造する方法に関し、 (a)連続する懸濁媒体内に単量体混合物の懸濁物をもたらし、単量体混合物は 、スチレン、ビニルトルエン、ビニルベンジルクロリド又はエチルビニルベンセ ンから選ばれる少なくとも1種のモノエチレン性不飽和単重体、ジビニルベンゼ ン、エチレングリコールジアクリレート、エチレングリコールジメタクレート又 はこれらの混合物から選ばれる少なくとも1種のポリエチレン性不飽和単量体、 並びに有効量の遊離基重合開始剤を含み、 (b)単量体混合物を重合しさらに共重合体ビーズを得るのに十分な条件下で懸 濁物を維持し、条件は、単量体から共重合体への重合中発生する発熱の実質的な 量の懸濁物内での保持、実質的に完全な転化へ重合するのに十分な時間少なくと も120℃に懸濁物の温度を上昇させる発熱の保持を含み、そして(c)懸濁物 から共重合体ビーズを採取することを特徴とする方法。
- 2.懸濁物が少なくとも130℃の温度に達する請求項1の方法。
- 3.懸濁物が、混合物中の単量体の全重量に基づいて重合可能な単量体の少なく とも90重量%を重量合するのに十分な時間、少なくとも120℃の温度にある 請求項1の方法。
- 4.懸濁物が少なくとも120℃の温度にある時間が、2時間又はそれ以下であ る請求項1の方法。
- 5.条件は、共重合体への単量体の重合から発生する発熱が、懸濁物へ熱を加え ることなく少なくとも重合を維持するのに十分になるまで、外部の源から熱を加 えることにより、少なくとも40℃の最初の温度に懸濁物を維持することを含む 請求項1の方法。
- 6.最初の温度が少なくとも70℃である請求項5の方法。
- 7.懸濁媒体が水である請求項1の方法。
- 8.モノエチレン性不飽和単量体が、単量体混合物の全重量に基づいて20−9
- 9.96重量%の量で存在する請求項1の方法。 9.ポリエチレン性不飽和単量体が、単量体混合物の全重量に基づいて0.4− 80重量%の量で存在する請求項1の方法。
- 10.遊離基開始剤が、過酸化物、ペルオキシエステル、アソ化合物及びこれら の混合物から選ばれる請求項1の方法。
- 11.遊離基開始剤が、過酸化ベンソイル.t−ブチルペルオクトエート、t− ブチルペルベンソエート及びこれらの混合物である請求項10の方法。
- 12.遊離基開始剤の有効量が、単量体混合物の全重量に基づいて0.05−2 .0重量%である請求項1の方法。
- 13.単量体混合物が不活性希釈剤を含む請求項1の方法。
- 14.単量体がシード重合体中に吸収される請求項1の方法。
- 15.単量体の一部が、重合が進むにつれ重合に添加される請求項1の方法。
