Description
図1に示す無端ベルト10は、心体層12、第1中間層14、第2中間層16、第1表面層18、及び第2表面層20を備える。無端ベルト10の厚さは、通常0.5~10.0mmである。無端ベルト10の幅は、通常10~5000mmである。図1におけるx方向を「長手方向」、y方向を「幅方向」、z方向を「厚み方向」という。
図3のcに示すように、接合前の前記第1端部22と前記第2端部24の前記第1中間層14に、それぞれ先端から長手方向に1か所切り込みを入れ、切り込み部32を形成する。図3のcは、代表して第1端部22について示している。切り込み部32は、長手方向に平行に形成する。切り込み部32の長手方向の長さは、後に形成する凹部19及び凸部21の長手方向の長さよりも長い。切り込み部32は、第1中間層14の厚みの中心位置に形成するのが好ましい。切り込み部32を形成した後の第1中間層14は、第1表面層18と一体の表面側中間部27と、心体層12と一体の心体側中間部29とに分離される。
無端ベルト10は、図5に示すように、第2表面層20と駆動プーリ30の表面が接触するように、駆動プーリ30に装着され、伝動ベルト又は搬送ベルトとして用いることができる。表面側中間部27、心体側中間部29、及び接続部31は、補強シート26の空隙28を通じて一体であるので、第1中間層14が補強シート26とより強固に接合している。したがって無端ベルト10は、補強シート26と第1中間層14の剥離を抑制し、継手部15の強度をより向上することができる。厚み方向からみた、単位面積当たりの空隙28の割合が35%以上70%以下であることによって、継手部15の強度をより確実に向上することができる。
本発明は上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の趣旨の範囲内で適宜変更することが可能である。

Claims (5)
- 心体層と、
熱可塑性樹脂で形成され、前記心体層の一方の表面に設けられた第1中間層と、
前記第1中間層の表面に設けられた第1表面層と、
互いに相補的な形状を有する第1端部と第2端部が接合された継手部と
を備えた、無端ベルトであって、
前記第1端部と前記第2端部の間の前記第1中間層に埋設された補強シートを備え、
前記補強シートは、厚み方向に貫通した空隙を有し、
前記第1中間層は、
前記補強シートの前記第1表面層側に配置され、前記第1中間層の熱可塑性樹脂で形成される表面側中間部と、
前記補強シートの前記心体層側に配置され、前記第1中間層の熱可塑性樹脂で形成される心体側中間部と、
前記空隙を通じて前記表面側中間部と前記心体側中間部とをつなぎ、前記第1中間層の熱可塑性樹脂で形成される接続部と
を有し、
厚み方向からみた、前記補強シートにおける単位面積当たりの前記空隙の割合が35%以上70%以下である

前記第2表面層は、駆動プーリに接触可能である、請求項1又は2に記載の無端ベルト。 - 前記補強シートは、編布である、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の無端ベルト。
- 心体層と、
熱可塑性樹脂で形成され、前記心体層の一方の表面に設けられた第1中間層と、
前記第1中間層の表面に設けられた第1表面層と
を備えた帯状ベルトの
長手方向の第1端部及び第2端部における前記第1中間層に、それぞれ先端から長手方向に切り込みを入れ、前記第1中間層を、前記第1表面層に一体化された表面側中間部と、前記心体層に一体化された心体側中間部とに分離する工程と、
前記第1端部と前記第2端部を、互いに相補的な形状に加工する工程と、
突き合わせた状態の前記第1端部と前記第2端部にまたがるように、前記心体側中間部の表面に、厚み方向に貫通した空隙を有する補強シートを配置する工程と、
前記第1表面層に一体化された前記表面側中間部及び前記第1表面層で前記補強シートを覆い、前記表面側中間部の熱可塑性樹脂と前記心体側中間部の熱可塑性樹脂が前記空隙を通じて互いに融着し一体となるように、前記第1端部と前記第2端部を接合する工程と
を備え、
厚み方向からみた、前記補強シートにおける単位面積当たりの前記空隙の割合が35%以上70%以下である
