Description
りん(P)及び硫黄(S)を構成元素として含む硫化物固体電解質材料は、PS4結晶、PS4ガラス、P2S6結晶、P2S6ガラス、P2S7結晶、P2S7ガラスなどの様々な形態を有する。したがって、りん及び硫黄は、硫化物固体電解質材料において、複数のP-S結合を形成する。31P-NMR測定によって、これらのP-S結合の結合状態を同定することができる。例えば、PS4ガラスは、84.7ppm付近にピークを有する。PS4結晶は、88.0ppm付近にピークを有する。P2S7結晶は、90.5ppm付近にピークを有する。P2S6ガラスは、108ppm付近にピークを有する。結晶の比率が高ければ高いほど硫化物固体電解質材料のイオン導電率が高い。なお、本明細書においてピーク位置を示す「付近」の語句は、中心とするピークから±0.5ppmまでの範囲を意味する。例えば、PS4ガラスは84.7ppm付近にピークを有するが、これは、84.2ppm以上85.2ppm以下の範囲内にピークを有することを意味する。また、PS4結晶は、88.0ppm付近にピークを有するが、これは、87.5ppm以上88.5ppm以下の範囲内にピークを有することを意味する。
本実施形態の硫化物固体電解質材料は、りん及び硫黄を含む。当該硫化物固体電解質材料の31P-NMR測定によって得られたスペクトルにおいて、88.0ppm付近に現れるピークを第1ピークと定義し、そのスペクトルにおいて、84.7ppm付近に現れるピークを第2ピークと定義し、第1ピークの積分強度と第2ピークの積分強度との比率がx:(1-x)で表されるとき、0.00926≦x≦0.37を満たす。第1ピークは、PS4結晶に帰属されるピークである。第2ピークは、PS4ガラスに帰属されるピークである。第2ピークの積分強度に対する第1ピークの積分強度の比率x/(1-x)は、PS4ガラスに対するPS4結晶のモル比を表す。
以下の実施形態2において、実施形態1と重複する説明は適宜省略される。実施形態2にかかる電池には、実施形態1で説明した硫化物固体電解質材料が使用されている。
露点-60℃以下のAr雰囲気のアルゴングローブボックス内において、モル比でLi2S:P2S5=75:25となるように、Li2S粉末とP2S5粉末とを秤量した。これらを乳鉢に入れて粉砕及び混合した。遊星型ボールミルを用い、510rpmの回転数で10時間にわたって混合物をミリング処理し、ガラス状の固体電解質を得た。ガラス状の固体電解質を不活性雰囲気下、270℃、15分間の条件で熱処理した。これにより、ガラスセラミックス状の硫化物固体電解質材料であるLi2S-P2S5粉末を得た。実施例1の硫化物固体電解質材料の組成はLi3PS4である。
熱処理の時間を30分間に変更したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法によって実施例2の硫化物固体電解質材料を得た。
熱処理を実施しなかったことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法によって比較例1の硫化物固体電解質材料を得た。
熱処理の時間を5分間に変更したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法によって比較例2の硫化物固体電解質材料を得た。
熱処理の時間を120分間に変更したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法によって比較例3の硫化物固体電解質材料を得た。
比較例3の硫化物固体電解質材料を、約23℃、相対湿度約50%の大気中に60分間暴露させた。これにより、比較例4の硫化物固体電解質材料を得た。暴露後の硫化物固体電解質材料は、露点-60℃以下のAr雰囲気のアルゴングローブボックス内で保管した。
実施例1、実施例2及び比較例1~4の硫化物固体電解質材料を用いて、31P-NMR測定を実施した。試料回転数は20kHz、測定積算回数は32回、緩和時間は30秒であった。0ppmの化学シフトを示す基準物質としてりん酸アンモニウムを採用した。得られたスペクトル図において、各ピークの積分強度をフィッティングにより導出した。各ピークの積分強度から、硫化物固体電解質材料の全体を100mol%と仮定したときの各結晶及び各ガラスの存在比(単位:mol%)を特定した。さらに、PS4結晶に帰属されるピークの積分強度とPS4ガラスに帰属されるピークの積分強度との比率をx:(1-x)と定義し、PS4結晶の含有比率x(PS4結晶比率)を導出した。「PS4結晶の含有比率x」は、PS4結晶の含有量とPS4ガラスの含有量との合計を「1」と仮定したときのPS4結晶の含有量をモル数にて表している。
実施例1、実施例2及び比較例1~3の硫化物固体電解質材料のイオン導電率を下記の方法で測定した。
