Claims (12)
- 後続の化学分析のために試料を用意する方法であって、
試料を含むシステムのヘッドスペース内に吸着剤を含む管を設けるステップと、
前記システムの外部の真空源を用いて、前記システム内を真空引きするステップと、
前記真空源を用いて真空引きした後に、密閉システムである前記システム内の真空を保持したままで、前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送を引き起こすステップであって、前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送は、前記試料の実質的にゼロの正味の流れで、又は前記吸着剤を通るヘッドスペースガスで実施される、ステップと、を含む、方法。 - 前記システムのヘッドスペース内に前記吸着剤を含む管を設けるステップは、試料抽出装置の複数の外部シールを介して、前記吸着剤を含む前記管を含む前記試料抽出装置に試料バイアルを結合することを含み、
前記複数の外部シールは、第1の外部シール及び第2の外部シールを含み、
前記試料抽出装置に試料バイアルを結合することは、前記試料抽出装置のポートを密封し、前記ポートは、前記試料抽出装置の前記管内のキャビティに流体的に結合され、前記ポートの開口は、前記第1の外部シールと前記第2の外部シールとの間に配置されており、前記方法は、さらに、
脱着プロセスの間に、
前記試料抽出装置を脱着装置に結合し、
前記ポートを通じて、前記試料抽出装置にキャリア液体を導入することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記後続の化学分析は、前記試料に対する、ガスクロマトグラフィ、ガスクロマトグラフィ質量分析、液体クロマトグラフィ及び液体クロマトグラフィ質量分析のうちの1つ又は2つ以上である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送を引き起こすステップの後、
前記吸着剤を含む前記管を含む試料抽出装置を密封するステップと、
前記試料抽出装置を保管するステップと、をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送は、前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物を前記吸着剤に吸着又は吸収させることの一方又は両方を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 溶媒を用いて前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物を前記吸着剤から溶離させて抽出物を形成するステップと、
前記後続の化学分析を実行するために、前記抽出物を化学分析装置に挿入するステップと、をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の移送は、前記吸着剤と前記試料との間の平衡が達成されるまで続く、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 管内に吸着剤を含むキャビティと、
第1の外部シール及び第2の外部シールを含む複数の外部シールであって、試料抽出装置の外側周囲に配置されている複数の外部シールと、
前記キャビティに流体的に結合され、前記試料抽出装置の外部環境に開口したポートと、を備える試料抽出装置であって、
前記ポートの開口が、前記試料抽出装置の外側の前記第1の外部シールと前記第2の外部シールとの間に配置され、
前記複数の外部シールは、試料収集プロセスの間に、前記試料抽出装置と試料バイアルの開口とが結合されている間に前記試料抽出装置と前記試料バイアルの開口との間にシールを形成し、それにより、前記試料抽出装置の前記外部環境から前記ポートを密封し、前記試料抽出装置の前記外部環境から前記試料抽出装置及び前記試料バイアルの内部を密封するように構成され、
前記ポートは、脱着プロセスの間にキャリア流体を受け入れるように構成され、
前記試料抽出装置の吸着剤は、前記試料抽出装置及び試料バイアルが結合されている間に前記試料抽出装置及び前記試料バイアルを真空引きした後に、前記試料抽出装置及び前記試料バイアル内の真空を保持したままで、前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送を引き起こし、前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送は、前記試料の実質的にゼロの正味の流れで、又は前記吸着剤を通るヘッドスペースガスで実施されるように構成されている、試料抽出装置。 - 前記キャビティは、取り外し可能のように前記試料抽出装置に結合されており、
前記キャビティは、前記キャビティ内の前記吸着剤を保持するように構成された1つ以上の吸着剤保持装置をさらに備えている、請求項8に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 内部シール及び密封プランジャをさらに備え、
前記内部シール及び前記密封プランジャは、前記試料抽出装置内が真空引きされた後、前記密封プランジャを前記内部シールに対して押すことにより、前記試料抽出装置及び前記試料バイアル内の真空を維持するように構成されている、請求項8に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記試料の化学分析中に、前記試料抽出装置が化学分析装置の中に挿入されている間に、前記複数の外部シールは、前記吸着剤への前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物の少なくとも部分的な移送の後に、前記試料抽出装置と、前記化学分析装置との間にシールを形成するように構成される、請求項8に記載の試料抽出装置。
- 前記化学分析装置は、前記試料の1つ以上の揮発性化合物に対する、ガスクロマトグラフィ、ガスクロマトグラフィ質量分析、液体クロマトグラフィ及び液体クロマトグラフィ質量分析のうちの1つを実行するように構成されている、請求項11に記載の試料抽出装置。
