Claims (20)
- 試料抽出装置であって、
前記試料抽出装置の抽出端部に開口部を有し、吸着剤を含むように構成されたキャビティと、
前記試料抽出装置の弁端部に配置されて、前記キャビティを通る流体流を選択的に制限するように構成された内部シールと、
を備えることを特徴とする試料抽出装置。 - 前記吸着剤は、前記キャビティの前記弁端部よりも前記試料抽出装置の前記抽出端部の前記開口部の方に接近するように前記キャビティ内に配置される、
請求項1に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記試料抽出装置は、該試料抽出装置の外側周囲に配置された外部シールをさらに備える、
請求項1に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記外部シールは、フルオロエラストマシール又はペルフルオロエラストマシールを含む、
請求項3に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記外部シールは、前記試料抽出装置と、該試料抽出装置が挿入される試料バイアルとの間にシールを形成するように構成される、
請求項3に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記内部シールは、前記試料抽出装置の前記弁端部に結合された真空源によって前記キャビティ及び前記吸着剤を通じて前記試料バイアルを真空引きすることを促すように構成される、
請求項5に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記外部シールは、前記試料抽出装置が前記試料バイアルに挿入された時に前記試料抽出装置の前記抽出端部が前記試料バイアル内のヘッドスペースガスの内部に存在するような前記試料抽出装置上の位置に配置される、
請求項5に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記内部シールは、前記試料抽出装置から前記真空源が除去された後に前記試料バイアル内に真空を維持する、
請求項6に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記外部シールは、前記試料抽出装置と、該試料抽出装置が挿入される化学分析装置との間にシールを形成するように構成される、
請求項1に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記キャビティ及び前記吸着剤に流体を流して前記化学分析装置に流入させることを促すように構成されたポートをさらに備える、
請求項9に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記内部シールは、試料抽出プロセス後に、前記吸着剤に収集された試料を前記試料抽出装置の環境から隔離するように構成される、
請求項1に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 前記キャビティは、前記試料抽出装置に取り外し可能に結合され、前記キャビティは、該キャビティ内に前記吸着剤を保持するように構成された1又は2以上の吸着剤保持装置をさらに含む、
請求項1に記載の試料抽出装置。 - 固体及び液体の一方又は両方を含む試料を含む試料バイアルを、試料抽出装置の外部シールを介して前記試料抽出装置に結合するステップと、
前記試料抽出装置に真空源を結合するステップと、
前記真空源を用いて、前記試料抽出装置の内部シールを通じて前記試料バイアルを第1の期間にわたって真空引きし、該真空引きするプロセスにおいて、前記試料抽出装置に含まれる吸着剤を通じて前記真空引きが行われるようにするステップと、
前記真空引きの後に前記真空源を除去するステップと、
前記真空源を除去した後に、前記試料バイアル内の前記真空を保持したままで、前記試料抽出装置に含まれる前記吸着剤に第2の期間にわたって前記試料を収集するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記試料を収集した後に、前記試料抽出装置を前記試料バイアルから分離するステップと、
前記試料抽出装置を化学分析装置のカラムに結合するステップと、
前記試料抽出装置上のポート及び前記試料抽出装置の前記吸着剤に分散媒を通して前記化学分析装置の前記カラムに流入させるステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記化学分析装置は、前記試料に対してガスクロマトグラフィ、ガスクロマトグラフィ質量分析、液体クロマトグラフィ及び液体クロマトグラフィ質量分析のうちの1つ又は2つ以上を実行するように構成される、
請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記試料抽出装置を前記試料バイアルから分離した後であって前記試料抽出装置を前記化学分析装置の前記カラムに結合する前に、前記分散媒を前記試料抽出装置の前記内部シールに通すステップと、
前記試料抽出装置を密封するステップと、
前記試料抽出装置を保管するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記試料を前記吸着剤に収集しながら前記試料を前記吸着剤に吸着させるステップ、及び前記試料を前記吸着剤に収集しながら前記試料を前記吸着剤に吸収するステップの一方又は両方をさらに含む、
請求項13に記載の方法。 - 溶媒を用いて前記試料を前記吸着剤から溶離させて抽出物を形成するステップと、
前記抽出物を化学分析装置に挿入して、前記抽出物に対してガスクロマトグラフィ、ガスクロマトグラフィ質量分析、液体クロマトグラフィ及び液体クロマトグラフィ質量分析のうちの1つ又は2つ以上を実行するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記第1の期間は、前記試料から水及びアルコールの一方又は両方が排除されるまで続く、
請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記第2の期間は、前記試料の所望の量の抽出が行われるまで、前記試料抽出装置と前記試料バイアルの内部との間の平衡が達成されるまで、又は前記試料バイアル内の前記試料から1又は2以上の所与の化合物が完全に抽出されるまで続く、
