Description
先ず、本発明による二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物について説明する。
前記フェノール化合物は、スラリー組成物の分散性および基材との接着性を向上させるためのものであり、芳香族環を2個以上含むフェノール化合物である。
次に、前記無機物粒子は、セパレータ上にコーティングされてセパレータの強度を増加させるためのものである。二次電池セパレータは、負極と正極との間の物理的な接触を防止し、且つ気孔を通してリチウムイオンのような金属イオンを通過させる役割をするものであり、一般的には多孔性のポリオレフィンのような高分子フィルムが使用されている。しかし、このように、有機物で形成されるフィルムのみで二次電池のセパレータを構成する場合、二次電池の充電/放電過程の途中にセパレータの間を移動する金属粒子の電荷によってセパレータが傷つきすい。したがって、本発明では、高分子フィルムからなるセパレータ基材上に無機物粒子を含むスラリー組成物をコーティングすることでセパレータの強度を向上させるようにした。
次に、前記バインダーは、前記無機物粒子をセパレータ基材の表面に付着するためのものであり、当該技術分野で使用される高分子バインダーが使用可能であり、その種類は特に制限されるものではない。
前記溶媒は、前記フェノール化合物、無機物粒子およびバインドを分散してコーティング性を確保するためのものであり、前記無機物粒子、バインダーおよびフェノール化合物を所定水準以上に溶解することができ、且つスラリー組成物がコーティングされる基材に対しては非溶媒特性を有する溶媒を使用することが好ましい。
次に、本発明による二次電池セパレータについて説明する。
次に、本発明による二次電池について説明する。
タンニン酸0.1重量部、平均粒径(D50)が0.5μmであり、BET表面積が6m2/gであるアルミナ粒子11.9重量部、平均粒径(D50)が0.25μmであり、BET表面積が20m2/gであるアルミナ粒子2.1重量部、PVdF‐HFP(ポリビニリデンフルオリド‐ヘキサフルオロプロピレン)およびPVdF‐CTFE(ポリビニリデンフルオリド‐クロロトリフルオロエチレン)を7:3の質量比で混合したバインダー3.9重量部およびアセトン溶液82重量部を混合した後、Homo mixer(製品名:Dispermat LC、製造社:VMA)を用いて30分間混合(mixing)を行い、セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物を製造した。
タンニン酸を0.2重量部、バインダーを3.8重量部で混合した点以外は、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物に対して実施例1と同じ方法で分散工程を行った。
タンニン酸を0.3重量部、バインダーを3.7重量部で混合した点以外は、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物に対して実施例1と同じ方法で分散工程を行った。
タンニン酸を0.4重量部、バインダーを3.6重量部で混合した点以外は、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物に対して実施例1と同じ方法で分散工程を行った。
タンニン酸の代わりに、クェルセチンを使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でセパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物に対して実施例1と同じ方法で分散工程を行った。
タンニン酸の代わりに、カルボン酸誘導体(製品名:Efka FA 4671、製造社:BASF)を使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
タンニン酸の代わりに、リン酸誘導体(製品名:DISPERBYK‐145、製造社:BYK)を使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
タンニン酸の代わりに、ウレタン系高分子(製品名:Efka PU 4063、製造社:BASF)を使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
タンニン酸の代わりに、水素化したニトリル‐ブタジエン共重合体(H‐NBR)を使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
タンニン酸の代わりに、エチレンビニルアルコールを使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散したが、エチレンビニルアルコールが溶媒のアセトンに溶解されず、スラリー分散が十分に行われなかった。
タンニン酸の代わりに、ポリビニルピロリドンを使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
タンニン酸の代わりに、没食子酸を使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
タンニン酸の代わりに、ピロガロール(pyrogallol)を使用した点以外は、実施例2と同じ方法でスラリー組成物を製造し、製造されたスラリー組成物を実施例1と同じ方法で分散した。
前記実施例1~5および比較例1~4、比較例6~8のスラリー組成物中の粒子の平均粒径(μm)および粒子の沈降速度(μm/s)をそれぞれ測定し、その結果を下記の表1に示した。
実施例1~5および比較例1~4、比較例6~8により製造されたスラリー組成物をポリエチレン多孔性基材上に塗布した後、50℃で乾燥し、コーティング層を形成した。次に、前記コーティング層と多孔性基材との接着力を評価するために、ガラス板に両面テープを接着した後、前記コーティング層が形成された多孔性基材をコーティング層の表面が接着テープと接着されるように付着した。次に、UTM(Universal Testing Machine)装備を用いて、200mm/minの速度で180度で剥離しながら、コーティング層と多孔性基材の剥離に必要な力(剥離力)を測定した。
Claims (11)
- 芳香族環を2個以上含むフェノール化合物と、
無機物粒子と、
バインダーと、
溶媒とを含み、
前記芳香族環を2個以上含むフェノール化合物は、前記バインダー100重量部に対して1~15重量部で含まれ、
前記無機物粒子はアルミナを含み、
前記バインダーはPVdF‐HFP(ポリビニリデンフルオリド-ヘキサフルオロプロピレン)およびPVdF‐CTFE(ポリビニリデンフルオリド-クロロトリフルオロエチレン)の混合物である、二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。 - 前記芳香族環を2個以上含むフェノール化合物は、前記芳香族環の少なくとも一つに、カテコール構造およびガロール構造の少なくとも一つ以上を含む、請求項1に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 前記芳香族環を2個以上含むフェノール化合物は、バイカリン、ルテオリン、タキシホリン、ミリセチン、クェルセチン、ルチン、カテキン、エピガロカテキンガレート、ブテイン、ピセアタンノールおよびタンニン酸からなる群から選択される1種以上である、請求項1または2に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 前記無機物粒子は、D50が0.1~10μmである、請求項1から3の何れか一項に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 前記無機物粒子は、D90が30μm以下である、請求項1から4の何れか一項に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 前記バインダーは、前記無機物粒子100重量部に対して10~50重量部で含まれる、請求項1から5の何れか一項に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 前記スラリー組成物を300rpmで3時間分散した後に測定したスラリー組成物中の粒子の平均粒径(D50)が、前記無機物粒子の平均粒径(D50)の2倍以下である、請求項1から6の何れか一項に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 前記スラリー組成物に200rpmの回転速度で遠心力を加えた状態で測定した粒子の沈降速度が3.5μm/s以下である、請求項1から7の何れか一項に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物。
- 基材と、前記基材の表面上に位置し、請求項1から8の何れか一項に記載の二次電池セパレータコーティング用のスラリー組成物で形成されたコーティング層とを含む、二次電池セパレータ。
- 前記セパレータは、前記基材と前記コーティング層との剥離力が180gf/15mm以上である、請求項9に記載の二次電池セパレータ。
- 正極と、負極と、前記正極と負極との間に配置される請求項9または10に記載のセパレータと、電解液とを含む、二次電池。
