Description
1.基板としてのシリコンウエハー上のMOS(金属酸化物半導体:metal oxide semiconductor)または他のダイオード、

−広げられたネマチック相範囲(特に、低い温度まで)
−極めて低温におけるスイッチ能力(屋外用途、自動車、航空機)
−UV照射に対する増大された耐性(より長い寿命)
−低い閾電圧。
R1は、1〜15個のC原子を有するアルキルまたはアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基における1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、O原子が互いに直接連結しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
X1は、1〜5個のC原子を有するアルキル基、OCF3、CF3、CHF2、OCHF2、OCF2CF3、CCF2CHFCF3、OCF=CF2、OCH=CF2またはFを表す。
Aは、1,4−フェニレンまたはトランス−1,4−シクロヘキシレンを表し、
aは、0または1であり、
R3は、2〜9個のC原子を有するアルケニルを表し、
および、R4は式IにおいてR1について示される意味を有し、好ましくは1〜12個のC原子を有するアルキルまたは2〜9個のC原子を有するアルケニルを表す。
R0は、請求項6で示される意味を有し、および
X0は、F、Cl、それぞれの場合で1〜6個のC原子を有し一フッ素化または多フッ素化されたアルキルまたはアルコキシ基、それぞれの場合で2〜6個のC原子を有し一フッ素化または多フッ素化されたアルケニルまたはアルケニルオキシ基を表し、
Y1〜6は、それぞれ互いに独立に、HまたはFを表し、
Z0は、−C2H4−、−(CH2)4−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C2F4−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−、−CF2O−または−OCF2−を表し、式VおよびVIにおいては、単結合も表し、および
rは、0または1を表す。
式中、R1およびR2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、それぞれ9個までのC原子を有するアルキル、アルケニル、アルコキシ、オキサアルキル、フルオロアルキルまたはアルケニルオキシを表し、好ましくは、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜8個のC原子または2〜8個のC原子をそれぞれ有するアルキルまたはアルケニルを表す。
alkylおよびalkyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜8個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルキル基を表し、および
alkenylおよびalkenyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、2〜8個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルケニル基を表す。
RN1およびRN2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜15個のC原子を有するアルキルまたはアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基における1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、O原子が互いに直接連結しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、
環AN1、AN2およびAN3は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1,4−フェニレン、2−フルオロ−1,4−フェニレン、3−フルオロ−1,4−フェニレン、トランス−1,4−シクロヘキシレン(ただし加えて、1個または2個のCH2基は−O−で置き換えられていてもよい。)または1,4−シクロヘキセニレンを表し、
ZN1およびZN2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、単結合、−CH2CH2−、−COO−、−OCO−、−C≡C−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−CF2O−、−OCF2−または−CH=CH−を表し、
nは、0、1または2を表し、
ただし、式Nの化合物は、式Iの化合物と同一でない。
alkylおよびalkyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜9個のC原子、好ましくは2〜6個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルキル基を表し、alkenylおよびalkenyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、2〜6個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルケニル基を表す。
R2Aは、H、1〜15個のC原子を有するアルキルまたはアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基における1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、O原子が互いに直接結合しないようにして、−CH=CH−、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−
L1〜4およびL2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、F、Cl、CF3またはCHF2、好ましくは、それぞれ、Fを表し、
Z2およびZ2’は、それぞれ互いに独立に、単結合、−CH2CH2−、−CH=CH−、−CF2O−、−OCF2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−、−OCO−、−C2F4−、−CF=CF−または−CH=CHCH2O−を表し、
pは、0、1または2を表し、
qは、0または1を表し、
(O)CvH2v+1は、OCvH2v+1またはCvH2v+1を表し、
vは、1〜6を表す。
alkylおよびalkyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜6個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルキル基を表し、
alkenylおよびalkenyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜6個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルケニル基を表す。
alkylおよびalkyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、1〜6個のC原子を有する直鎖状のアルキル基を表し、

V0は、20℃における容量閾電圧[V]を表し、
Δnは、20℃および589nmにおいて測定される光学的異方性を表し、
Δεは、20℃および1kHzにおける誘電異方性を表し、
cp.は、透明点[℃]を表し、
K1は、20℃における「スプレイ(splay)」変形に対する弾性定数[pN]を表し、
K3は、20℃における「ベンド(bend)」変形に対する弾性定数[pN]を表し、
γ1は、20℃において測定される回転粘度[mPa・s]を表し、電界中における過渡電流法で決定され、
LTSは、低温安定性(low−temperature stability)(ネマチック相)を表し、ガラス瓶中で決定される。
他に明記しない限り、電気光学的データは、20℃における第1極小(即ち、d・Δnの値が0.5μm)でTNセル中において測定する。他に明記しない限り、光学的データは20℃で測定する。全ての物理的特性は「メルク液晶、液晶の物理的特性」1997年11月、ドイツ国メルク社に従って決定され、他に明記しない限り、20℃の温度が適用される。
Claims (23)
- 式Iの1種類以上の化合物と、
式IIおよび/またはIIIの1種類以上の化合物と
を含むことを特徴とする液晶媒体。
R1は、1〜15個のC原子を有するアルキルまたはアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基における1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、O原子が互いに直接連結しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
X1は、1〜5個のC原子を有するアルキル基、OCF3、CF3、CHF2、OCHF2、OCF2CF3、CCF2CHFCF3、OCF=CF2、OCH=CF2またはFを表す。)
Aは、1,4−フェニレンまたはトランス−1,4−シクロヘキシレンを表し、
aは、0または1を表し、
R 3 は、2〜9個のC原子を有するアルケニルを表し、および
R 4 は、R 1 に示される意味を有する。) - 式IにおけるR1は直鎖状のアルキル基を表し、ただし加えて、1個以上のCH2基は−CH=CH−で置き換えられていてもよいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶媒体。
- 式IV〜VIIIの化合物より選択される1種類以上の化合物を追加的に含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体。
R0は1〜15個のC原子を有するアルキルまたはアルコキシ基(ただし加えて、これらの基における1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、O原子が互いに直接連結しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
X0は、F、Cl、1〜6個のC原子を有し一フッ素化または多フッ素化されたアルキルまたはアルコキシ基、2〜6個のC原子を有し一フッ素化または多フッ素化されたアルケニルまたはアルケニルオキシ基を表し、
Y1〜6は、それぞれ互いに独立に、HまたはFを表し、
Z0は、−C2H4−、−(CH2)4−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C2F4−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−、−CF2O−または−OCF2−を表し、式VおよびVIにおいては単結合も表し、および
rは、0または1を表す。) - 式Y−1、Y−2、Y−3およびY−4の化合物群より選択される1種類以上の化合物を追加的に含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体。
R2Aは、H、1〜15個のC原子を有するアルキルまたはアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基における1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、O原子が互いに直接連結しないようにして、−CH=CH−、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−
L1〜4およびL2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、F、Cl、CF3またはCHF2、好ましくは、それぞれ、Fを表し、
Z2およびZ2’は、それぞれ互いに独立に、単結合、−CH2CH2−、−CH=CH−、−CF2O−、−OCF2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−、−OCO−、−C2F4−、−CF=CF−または−CH=CHCH2O−を表し、
pは、0、1または2を表し、
qは、0または1を表し、
(O)CvH2v+1は、OCvH2v+1またはCvH2v+1を表し、
vは、1〜6を表す。) - 1〜30重量%の式Iの化合物を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体。
- 1種類以上のUV安定剤および/または酸化防止剤を追加的に含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体。
- 1種類以上の重合性化合物を追加的に含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜18のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体。
- 式Iの1種類以上の化合物を、少なくとも1種類の更なるメソゲン化合物と、任意成分として、1種類以上の添加剤(1種類または多種類)および/または1種類以上の重合性化合物と混合することを特徴とする請求項1〜19のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体の調製方法。
- 電気光学的目的のための請求項1〜20のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体の使用。
- TN、STN、TN−TFT、OCB、IPS、PS−IPS、FFS、HB−FFSおよびPS−FFSディスプレイ、3D効果用のシャッター眼鏡、LCレンズおよび正VAディスプレイにおける請求項21に記載の液晶媒体の使用。
- 請求項1〜19のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体を含有する電気光学的液晶ディスプレイ。
