Abstract
Description
−拡大されたネマチック相範囲(特に、低い温度までの)
−極度に低い温度でのスイッチ能力(屋外用途、自動車、航空電子工学)
−紫外線照射に対する増大された抵抗(より長い寿命)
−低い閾電圧
先行技術から入手可能な媒体では、これらの利点を、同時に他のパラメーターを保持しながら達成することはできない。
R0は、ハロゲン化されているかまたは置換されていない炭素数1〜15のアルキルまはたアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基の1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、酸素原子が互いに直接結合しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
式中、R0、X0およびY1〜4は式IIで示される意味を有し、
Z0は、−C2H4−、−(CH2)4−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C2F4−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−または−OCF2−を表し、式VおよびVIにおいては単結合も表し、式VおよびVIIIにおいては−CF2O−も表し、および
rは、0または1を表す。

X0は、上で示される意味を有し、
Lは、HまたはFを表わし、
alkylは、炭素数1〜7のアルキルを表し、
R’は、炭素数1〜7のアルキル、炭素数1〜6のアルコキシまたは炭素数2〜7のアルケニルを表し、および
alkenylおよびalkenyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、炭素数2〜7のアルケニルを表す。
表Cは、一般に本発明による混合物に添加される使用可能なドーパントを示す。混合物は、好ましくは0〜10質量%、特には0.01〜5質量%、特に好ましくは、0.01〜3質量%のドーパントを含む。
例えば本発明の混合物に、0〜10質量%の量で添加することができる安定剤を以下に示す。
−Δnは589nmおよび20℃における光学異方性を表わし、
−γ1は20℃における回転粘度(mPa・s)を表わし、
−V10は透過(基板表面に垂直な視角)が10%変化するための電圧(V)を表し(閾電圧)、
−V90は透過(基板表面に垂直な視角)が90%変化するための電圧(V)を表し、
−Δεは20℃および1kHzにおける誘電異方性(Δε=ε//−ε⊥、ここでε//は分子の長軸に平行な誘電率、ε⊥はそれに垂直な誘電率を表す)を表わし、
−HRは電圧保持率(%)を表し、および
−LTSは試験用セル中で決定される低温安定性(相)を表す。
Claims (13)
- 式Iの1種類以上の化合物を含むことを特徴とする液晶媒体。
R0は、ハロゲン化されているかまたは置換されていない炭素数1〜15のアルキルまはたアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基の1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、酸素原子が互いに直接結合しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
X0は、F、Cl、CN、SF5、SCN、NCS、炭素数6までのハロゲン化アルキル基、ハロゲン化アルケニル基、ハロゲン化アルコキシ基またはハロゲン化アルケニルオキシ基を表し、および
Y1およびY2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、HまたはFを表す。) - 以下の式より選ばれる1種類以上の化合物を付加的に含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の液晶媒体。
X0は、上で示される意味を有し、
Lは、HまたはFを表わし、
alkylは、炭素数1〜7のアルキルを表し、
R’は、炭素数1〜7のアルキル、炭素数1〜6のアルコキシまたは炭素数2〜7のアルケニルを表し、
alkenylおよびalkenyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、炭素数2〜7のアルケニルを表し、および
R1およびR2は、それぞれ互いに独立に、それぞれ炭素数9までのn−アルキル、アルコキシ、オキサアルキル、フルオロアルキルまたはアルケニルを表し、
ただし、基R1およびR2の少なくとも一方は、炭素数2〜9のアルケニルを表す。) - 2〜40質量%の式Iの化合物、
20〜90質量%の式IIの化合物、および
2〜30質量%の式IIIの化合物を含み、さらに、
任意成分として2〜30質量%の式IVの化合物、
任意成分として2〜30質量%の式IX〜XIIの化合物、
任意成分として4〜30質量%の式XIVの化合物を含んでいてもよいことを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の液晶媒体。 - 電気光学的目的のための請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の液晶媒体の使用。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の液晶媒体を備える電気光学的液晶ディスプレイ。
- 請求項1で定義される式Iの化合物の1種類以上を、請求項3〜9のいずれかに記載の化合物の1種類以上と、または更なる液晶化合物および/または添加剤と混合することを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の液晶媒体の調製方法。
