Abstract
Description
図1は、実施の形態1に係る撥水性構造体の製造方法の概念を説明する模式図である。
撥水性構造体10は、超撥水性を有する。ここでの「超撥水性」とは、水の接触角が130度を超えるような高い撥水性、あるいは、付着した水滴が10°以下の傾斜で転がり去る低い転落角のことを示している。低い転落角により、水が付着しにくく、清浄性を維持しやすい表面を実現できる。
図1の上段は、樹脂基材2に撥水性部材としての撥水性微粒子1を付着させた状態を示している。樹脂基材2は、撥水性を有するが超撥水性は有さない。樹脂基材2の表面に撥水性微粒子1を凝集体として付着させると、超撥水性が得られる。凝集体には、バインダー樹脂等が含まれている。凝集体にバインダー樹脂等が含まれていることで、凝集体は十分な強度を有し、こすられても超撥水性が維持され、実用性が得られる。逆にいえば、凝集体にバインダー樹脂等が含まれない場合には、凝集体は十分な強度が無く、軽く擦るだけで超撥水性は失われ、超撥水表面としての実用性は無い。
図1の下段は、撥水性微粒子1の存在下、言い換えれば撥水性微粒子1が樹脂基材2の表面に付着した状態で、樹脂基材2を研磨布等を用いて研磨することにより、樹脂基材2の表面を粗面化した状態を示している。樹脂基材2の表面には、研磨布等の砥粒により凹凸が形成される。この研磨工程では、無数の砥粒が樹脂基材2の表面に押し込まれて移動することで樹脂基材2の表面部分の一部が切削されて脱離する、ことが繰り返され、樹脂基材2の表面部分が塑性変形する。樹脂基材2の表面部分は、表面部分に撥水性微粒子1が存在した状態で塑性変形する。これにより、撥水性微粒子1と樹脂基材2を構成する樹脂とが混ざり合った超撥水性混合層3が樹脂基材2の表面部分に形成される。つまり、樹脂基材2の表面部分が超撥水性混合層3となった撥水性構造体10が形成される。撥水性微粒子1と樹脂基材2を構成する樹脂とが混ざり合う現象は、樹脂基材の表面部分のみで混錬または捏和が行われる処理と理解できる。
上記実施の形態1では、樹脂基材2の表面に付着させる撥水性部材として撥水性微粒子を用いていたが、本実施の形態2では、フッ素樹脂を用いる。具体的には、本実施の形態2では、フッ素樹脂の粉体を用いて、実施の形態1の場合と同様に処理することで、超撥水性混合層を形成する。以下、本実施の形態2が実施の形態1と異なる点を中心に説明するものとし、本実施の形態2で説明されていない構成は実施の形態1と同様である。
図2に示す撥水性構造体10Aは、粉体状のフッ素樹脂4の存在下で樹脂基材2を研磨して形成された超撥水性混合層3aを有する。超撥水性混合層3aは、フッ素樹脂4と樹脂基材2を構成する樹脂とが混ざり合った状態である。フッ素樹脂4と樹脂基材2を構成する樹脂は、分子レベルで混合することはない。超撥水性混合層3aは、研磨によって複雑な表面凹凸を形成している樹脂基材2の表面を、フッ素樹脂4が覆うような構成とみなせる。樹脂基材2には、実施の形態1にて説明したものを用いることができる。また、研磨についても、実施の形態1にて説明した方法にて行うことができる。
本実施の形態3は、超撥水微粒子とフッ素樹脂との両方の存在下で研磨を行い、超撥水性混合層を形成するものである。以下、本実施の形態3が実施の形態1および実施の形態2と異なる点を中心に説明するものとし、本実施の形態3で説明されていない構成は実施の形態1および実施の形態2と同様である。
図3に示す撥水性構造体10Bは、撥水性微粒子1とフッ素樹脂4との両方の存在下で樹脂基材2を研磨して形成された超撥水性混合層3bを有する。超撥水性混合層3bは、研磨によって複雑な表面凹凸を形成している樹脂基材2の表面を、撥水性微粒子1とフッ素樹脂4との混合物が覆うような構成とみなすことができる。フッ素樹脂4は、樹脂基材2に比べて柔らかく、相互に混合しにくいため、このような構成になる。
実施の形態1−3では、撥水性部材の樹脂基材2への付着を、粉体状で塗布する方法で行ったが、本実施の形態4は、液状で塗布する方法で行う。以下、本実施の形態4が実施の形態1−3と異なる点を中心に説明するものとし、本実施の形態4で説明されていない構成は実施の形態1−3と同様である。
実施の形態1−4によって形成された撥水性構造体は、上述したように摩擦および汚染によって超撥水性が劣化しにくく、超撥水性を長期間維持することが可能である。しかし、長期間の経過後には超撥水性が劣化する可能性があり、本実施の形態5は、簡単な処理で超撥水性を回復する方法に関する。
図4の上段は、撥水性構造体10の表面の超撥水性が保たれている状態を示している。この状態の撥水性構造体10に対し、繰り返しの摩擦または強い力の摩擦が加えられると、図4の中段に示すように、超撥水性混合層3の表面の凸部が摩耗し、表面の撥水性微粒子1が失われ、樹脂基材2の表面が露出して露出面6を形成する。あるいは、摩擦等により、撥水性構造体の表面の凹部に汚染付着物7が付着する。このような状態は、超撥水性が劣化した状態である。超撥水性が劣化した露出面6、あるいは、汚染付着物7には、水が付着する。露出面6、あるいは、汚染付着物7に水が付着すると、その水は、表面に濡れ拡がらなくとも、水滴となって転がることはなく、位置が固定され、衛生性を向上させるという目的に支障をきたすことになる。
樹脂基材として、100mm×100mm、厚さ1mmの平板を用いた。撥水性部材として撥水性微粒子を用いた。撥水性微粒子1として、一次粒子の平均粒子径7nmの撥水性ヒュームドシリカR972V(日本アエロジル製)を用いた。平板の上に、撥水性微粒子1を0.2g振り掛け、オービタルサンダーに紙やすりを付けて研磨を行った。超撥水性は、転落角で評価した。樹脂基材上に水滴を置き、傾けて水滴が転落する角度を測定した。摩擦耐性の評価は、ワイパーで、約80g/cm2の押圧で50回擦って転落角の変化を確認することで行った。ワイパーには、JKワイパー(商標登録:日本製紙クレシア株式会社)を用いた。
実施例1と同様の実験条件で、撥水性部材として粉体状のフッ素樹脂であるダイニオン(登録商標)PTFEマイクロパウダーTF9201Z(スリーエム ジャパン株式会社製)を用いて評価を行った。
実施例1、5と同様の実験条件で、撥水性部材として撥水性微粒子とフッ素樹脂との当重量の混合物を用いて評価を行った。
実施例13、14は、撥水性微粒子とフッ素樹脂との当重量の混合物を、炭化水素系の溶剤に分散させて20重量%の分散液にしたものを、スプレー塗布および乾燥により樹脂基材に付着させた。炭化水素系の溶剤には、ミネラルスピリットA(登録商標:ENEOS株式会社製)を用いた。比較例12は、撥水性微粒子とフッ素樹脂との当重量の混合物の粉体を、そのまま粉体の状態で樹脂基材に付着させた。実施例13、14および比較例12では、樹脂基材としてPMMA板を用いた。実施例1と同様の評価を行った。
〈研磨付着物による耐性の違い〉
実施例15−17では、石鹸液に対する耐性の評価を行った。撥水性微粒子を樹脂基材に付着させた実施例2と、フッ素樹脂を樹脂基材に付着させた実施例10と、撥水性微粒子およびフッ素樹脂を樹脂基材に付着させた実施例14と、を比較した。研磨で超撥水化した後の試料に対し、手洗い用の石鹸液で軽く洗浄し、水洗した後の状態と、水洗した後さらに高圧の水スプレーを噴霧した後の状態と、のそれぞれにおいて転落角を測定した。
〈再研磨による超撥水性回復〉
実施例18−20では、石鹸液洗浄および高圧スプレー曝露を行った試料を用いて、研磨による超撥水性の回復の評価を行った。
Claims (8)
- 樹脂基材と、
前記樹脂基材上に形成され、前記樹脂基材の表面部分を構成する樹脂と撥水性部材とが混合した超撥水性混合層とを備え、
前記撥水性部材は、平均粒径5nm以上、30nm以下の無機微粒子を撥水化処理した撥水性微粒子、または、該撥水性微粒子とフッ素樹脂との混合物であり、
前記超撥水性混合層は、1μm以上、10μm以下の表面粗さSaを有する撥水性構造体。 - 撥水性部材を樹脂基材の表面に付着させる付着工程と、
前記撥水性部材が付着した前記樹脂基材の表面を、表面粗さSaが1μm以上、10μm以下となるまで研磨する研磨工程とを有し、
前記撥水性部材は、平均粒径5nm以上、30nm以下の無機微粒子を撥水化処理した撥水性微粒子、または、該撥水性微粒子とフッ素樹脂との混合物である撥水性構造体の製造方法。 - 前記撥水性部材は、前記撥水性微粒子と前記フッ素樹脂との前記混合物であり、前記撥水性微粒子に対する前記フッ素樹脂の比率は、重量比で30%以上、300%以下である請求項2記載の撥水性構造体の製造方法。
- 前記付着工程では、前記撥水性部材の粉体を前記樹脂基材の表面に塗布して付着させる請求項2または請求項3記載の撥水性構造体の製造方法。
- 前記付着工程における前記撥水性部材の前記樹脂基材の表面への添加量は、前記表面100cm2あたりに0.1g以上、0.5g以下である請求項2〜請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の撥水性構造体の製造方法。
- 前記付着工程では、前記撥水性部材を含む溶液を前記樹脂基材の表面に塗布して付着させる請求項2または請求項3記載の撥水性構造体の製造方法。
- 前記付着工程における前記撥水性部材の前記樹脂基材の表面への添加量は、前記樹脂基材の表面に塗布された前記溶液が乾燥した乾燥後の重量として、前記表面100cm2あたりに0.05g以上、0.5g以下である請求項6記載の撥水性構造体の製造方法。
- 撥水性構造体の撥水性を回復する方法であって、
前記撥水性構造体は、
樹脂基材と、
前記樹脂基材上に形成され、前記樹脂基材の表面部分を構成する樹脂と撥水性部材とが混合した超撥水性混合層とを備え、
前記撥水性部材は、平均粒径5nm以上、30nm以下の無機微粒子を撥水化処理した撥水性微粒子およびフッ素樹脂の一方または両方であり、
前記撥水性構造体の表面を研磨加工することで、前記超撥水性混合層の表面粗さSaを1μm以上、10μm以下とする撥水性の回復方法。
