Description
図1は、本発明の液体吐出装置として使用可能なインクジェット記録装置1000の内部構成概略図である。搬送部1は、記録媒体となるシートSを一定の速度でy方向に搬送する。液体吐出ヘッド3は、搬送中のシートSに対し記録データに従ってz方向にインクを吐出する。本実施形態の液体吐出ヘッド3は、同色のインク(同じ種類の液体)を吐出する複数のノズルが、シートS幅に対応する距離だけx方向に配列して構成されるフルライン型のインクジェット記録ヘッドである。そして、このようなノズル列が、シアン、マゼンタ、イエロー、およびブラックのインク別に、y方向に並列配置されている。吐出動作に必要なデータや電力は電気配線ユニット5から供給される。なお、シートSはカット紙であってもよいし、ロール紙であってもよい。
図2は、インクジェット記録装置1000における液体循環流路を示す図である。ここでは、1色のインクについての循環流路を示しているが、実際の記録装置にはこのような循環経路が、CMYKのインク色ごとに用意されている。バッファタンク1003は、第1循環ポンプ1002、第2循環ポンプ1004と接続されており、これらポンプの作動によって図の左から右方向へインクが流れるようになっている。一方、バッファタンク1003内のインク残量が少なくなると、補充ポンプ1005が作動し、装置内に固定されている大容量のメインタンク1006からインクが補充される。バッファタンク1003には大気連通口が形成されており、流入した気泡を液体循環流路から排出できるようになっている。
図3(a)および(b)は、液体吐出ヘッド3の外観斜視図である。本実施形態の液体吐出ヘッド3は、シートSの全幅をカバーするフルライン型のカラーインクジェット記録ヘッドである。x方向には15個の記録素子基板10が配列し、個々の記録素子基板10が、吐出データに従ってシアン、マゼンタ、イエローおよびブラックの4色のインクをz方向に吐出する。
図12(a)および(b)は、本実施形態の流路部材210における第1〜第3の流路部材(50、60、70)の金型内部における形成位置およびこれらを接合する位置を説明するための図である。これら3つの部材は、本金型K001の内部で個別に成形され、同じく本金型K001の内部で互いに接合される。以下、個別に成形される工程を第1の成形工程、互いに接合される工程を第2の成形工程と称する。
なお、上記実施形態では1次成形で成形した3つの部品を、y方向の同じ位置に合わせて一括接合する形態としたが、これら3部品は段階的に接合させることも出来る。例えば、第1の成形工程の後、まず第3流路部材70と第2流路部材60の位置合わせを行ってこれらを接合し、その後更に第3流路部材70と第2流路部材60の接合品を第1流路部材50に対して位置あわせし、これらを接合しても良い。このような形態であっても、第1流路部材50、第2流路部材60および第3流路部材70が、これら全ての接合が完了するまで本金型K001に保持されており、反りやうねりに伴う変形を抑えるという本発明の効果を得ることは出来る。

Claims (7)
- 液体を吐出するための素子が配列された液体吐出モジュールと該液体吐出モジュールに液体を供給するための流路部材で構成される液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法であって、
第1の方向に分離可能な固定側金型と中間可動金型と可動側金型とを、前記第1の方向に型締めした状態において、内部の異なる箇所に樹脂を注入することにより、前記内部の異なる箇所のそれぞれに前記流路部材を構成するための第1部材と、第2部材と、第3部材と、を成形する第1の成形工程と、
前記第1の成形工程の後に、前記中間可動金型および前記可動側金型を前記第1の方向に移動して前記固定側金型、前記中間可動金型および前記可動側金型を分離し、前記中間可動金型および前記可動側金型を前記分離の方向とは異なる第2の方向に移動して、前記第1部材、前記第2部材および前記第3部材の前記第2の方向における位置を合わせる工程と、
前記位置を合わせる工程を行った後に前記固定側金型と前記中間可動金型と前記可動側金型を前記第1の方向に型締めした状態で内部に樹脂を注入することにより、前記第1部材、前記第2部材および前記第3部材を接合することにより前記流路部材を完成させる第2の成形工程と、
を有し、
前記第1の成形工程から前記第2の成形工程が完了するまで、前記第1部材、前記第2部材、および前記第3部材は、前記第1の成形工程においてそれぞれが成形された駒型に保持されていることを特徴とする液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。 - 前記第2の成形工程の後に、前記第1部材に設けられた接合面を前記液体吐出モジュールの支持部材と接着することによって前記流路部材と前記液体吐出モジュールとを結合する工程を更に有し、
前記接合面は、前記第1の成形工程から前記第2の成形工程が完了するまで、前記固定側金型に付随する駒型に保持されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。 - 前記流路部材は複数の前記液体吐出モジュールに共通して液体を供給することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。
- 前記第1部材、前記第2部材および前記第3部材は前記第1の方向と垂直な平板形状を有しており、前記第1の方向に積層され接合されることによって前記流路部材を構成することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。
- 前記液体吐出ヘッドは、前記素子が前記第2の方向に配列されているフルライン型のインクジェット記録ヘッドであり、前記第2部材および前記第3部材には前記配列の方向に延在する流路溝が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。
- 前記液体吐出ヘッドは、複数色のインクを吐出することが可能なカラーインクジェット記録ヘッドであり、前記流路部材には前記複数色のインクのそれぞれについての流路が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。
- 前記流路部材には、前記液体吐出モジュールに供給されるインクのための流路と前記液体吐出モジュールから回収されるインクのための流路とが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。
