Description
[ここで、W1は前記不織布基材の1m2当りの質量、D1は前記不織布基材の密度、W2は前記高分子の1m2当りの質量、D2は前記高分子の密度を示す。]
一方、本発明の他の態様によれば、正極、負極、及び前記正極と前記負極との間に介在したセパレータを含む電気化学素子において、前記セパレータが本発明によるセパレータであることを特徴とする。
[ここで、W1は前記不織布基材の1m2当りの質量、D1は前記不織布基材の密度、W2は前記高分子の1m2当りの質量、D2は前記高分子の密度を示す。]
上記の数値範囲を満せば、セパレータに存在する気孔が、3次元的に相互結び付いて形成されるため、リチウムイオンの伝達効果が一層向上する。
(1)コーティング溶液の製造
メチレンクロライド溶媒に、高分子として引張強度が120MPa、引張弾性率が3,300MPa、屈曲弾性率が3,500MPaであるポリエーテルイミド(PEI、sabic 1010−1010R)を添加してPEI 5重量%のコーティング溶液を製造した。
前記コーティング溶液を用いて不織布(三菱製紙社製、LP1540)にディップコーティングした後、常温で12時間乾燥してセパレータを製造した。
実施例1で製造したコーティング溶液を用いて実施例1で製造したセパレータにさらに一回ディップコーティングし、その後、常温で12時間乾燥してセパレータを製造した。
メチレンクロライドの代わりにN‐メチル‐2‐ピロリドン(NMP)を溶媒として使用し、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)の代わりに引張強度が133MPa、引張弾性率が7,800MPa、屈曲弾性率が7,300MPaであるポリアミドイミド(PAI、tarlon 4275)を高分子として使用し、常温で48時間乾燥することを除いて、実施例1と同様の方法でセパレータを製造した。
実施例3で製造したコーティング溶液を用いて実施例3で製造したセパレータにさらに一回ディップコーティングし、その後、常温で48時間乾燥してセパレータを製造した。
コーティング溶液でコーティングしていない不織布(三菱製紙社製、LP1540)でセパレータを製造した。
メチレンクロライドの代わりにN‐メチル‐2‐ピロリドン(NMP)を溶媒として使用し、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)の代わりに引張強度が21MPa、引張弾性率が250MPa、屈曲弾性率が271MPaであるポリフッ化ビニリデン‐ヘキサフルオロプロピレン(PVDF‐HFP)を高分子として使用することを除いて、実施例1と同様の方法でセパレータを製造した。
比較例2で製造したコーティング溶液を用いて比較例2で製造したセパレータにさらに一回ディップコーティングし、その後、常温で12時間乾燥してセパレータを製造した。
実施例1ないし4、及び比較例1ないし3で製造したセパレータを15mm×100mmに裁断して試料を用意した。その後、用意した試料を用いてASTM−D882に従って引張強度を測定して下記表1に示した。このとき、試料の引張速度は50mm/minに設定した。
実施例1ないし4、及び比較例1ないし3で製造したセパレータを50mm×50mmに裁断して試料を用意した。1mmのラウンドティップ(round tip)が120mm/minの速度で作動するように設定した後、用意した試料を用いてASTM−D2852に従って穿孔強度を測定し、下記表1に示した。
Claims (12)
- 電気化学素子用セパレータであって、
繊維で形成され、前記繊維同士の間に気孔が形成された、多数の気孔を有する不織布基材と、
前記不織布基材を形成する前記繊維の表面の全体に形成された高分子コーティング層とを備えてなり、
前記高分子コーティング層が、引張強度が80MPa以上であり、引張弾性率及び屈曲弾性率がそれぞれ3,000MPa以上である高分子からなり、
前記高分子コーティング層が、前記繊維の外部面に形成されたものである、電気化学素子用セパレータ(但し、高分子コーティング層が多孔質構造を有する電気化学素子用セパレータを除く)。 - 前記繊維の平均直径が、0.01μmないし10μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記不織布基材が、前記不織布基材が有する全体気孔数を基準として、長径が0.05μmないし70μmである気孔を50%以上含んでなることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記不織布基材が、気孔度が30%ないし80%であり、厚さが10μmないし30μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記高分子が、ポリアミドエーテルケトン(PAEK)、ポリイミド(PI)、ポリアミド(PA)、ポリフェニレンスルホン(PPSU)、ポリフェニレンエーテル(PPE)、ポリエーテルスルホン(PES)、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)、ポリベンゾイミダゾール(PBI)、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)、ポリアミドイミド(PAI)、ポリ(p‐フェニレン2,6‐ベンゾビスオキサゾール)、及びエポキシ樹脂からなる群より選択される一種又は二種以上の混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記高分子が、ポリアミドイミド(PAI)であり、その引張強度が80〜133MPaであり、引張弾性率が3,000〜7,800MPaであり、かつ屈曲弾性率が3,000〜7,300MPaである、請求項5に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記高分子コーティング層に付着した多数の無機物粒子をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記無機物粒子は、平均粒度が0.001μmないし10μmであって、BaTiO3、Pb(Zr、Ti)O3(PZT)、Pb1-xLaxZr1-yTiyO3(PLZT、0<x<1、0<y<1)、Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3‐PbTiO3(PMN‐PT)、ハフニア(HfO2)、SrTiO3,SnO2、CeO2、MgO、NiO、CaO、ZnO、ZrO2、Y2O3,Al2O3,SiC、及びTiO2からなる群より選択される一種又は二種以上の混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記無機物粒子の含量が、前記高分子100重量部を基準にして、100重量部ないし10,000重量部であることを特徴とする、請求項7又は8に記載された、セパレータ。
- 前記セパレータが、気孔度が5%ないし50%であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9の何れか一項に記載された、セパレータ。
- 電気化学素子であって、
正極、負極、及び前記正極と前記負極との間に介在したセパレータを備えてなり、
前記セパレータが、請求項1〜10の何れか一項に記載されたセパレータであることを特徴とする、電気化学素子。 - 前記電気化学素子が、リチウム二次電池であることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載された、電気化学素子。
