一実施形態では、ノイズファクタは、全映像にわたり測定又は予想される平均ノイズの約1ないし2標準偏差にセットすることができる。これは、得られる負の遠フィールド映像内のほとんどのピクセルを、タッチ表面接触が存在しないときに、中性ではなく、若干負にさせる。図6に示すように、ブロック600に基づく動作から生じる負の遠フィールド映像は、[NFAR]と示されている。

Claims (15)
- タッチ表面装置への入力ソースを識別する方法において、
接近映像を取得するステップと、
前記接近映像を一又は複数のパッチにセグメント化するステップであって、各パッチが複数のピクセルを有し、各ピクセルが値を持つ、前記セグメント化するステップと、
前記一又は複数のパッチの少なくとも一つのパッチについての信号密度値を、一つのパッチの合計信号とパッチのサイズの一つの表現との関数として、決定するステップと、
前記少なくとも一つのパッチが、特定された値よりも高い信号密度値を持つ場合には、タッチ表面装置のタッチ表面に接触する物体に関連したものとして、前記少なくとも一つのパッチを識別するステップと、
前記少なくとも一つのパッチが、前記特定された値よりも低い信号密度値を持つ場合には、前記タッチ表面の上にホバリングする物体に関連したものとして、前記少なくとも一つのパッチを識別するステップと、
前記識別するステップの実行に応答して、前記タッチ表面装置において制御動作を実行するステップと、
を備えた方法。 - 前記信号密度値は、前記少なくとも一つのパッチ内の全てのピクセル値の合計を、前記少なくとも一つのパッチにおけるピクセルの数で、除算することによって、定められることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記信号密度値は、前記少なくとも一つのパッチ内の全てのピクセル値の合計を、前記少なくとも一つのパッチの半径で、除算することによって、定められることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記信号密度値は、前記少なくとも一つのパッチ内の全てのピクセル値の合計を、前記少なくとも一つのパッチの幾何学的平均半径で、除算することによって、定められることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記信号密度値は、前記少なくとも一つのパッチ内の全てのピクセル値の合計を、前記少なくとも一つのパッチの面積で、除算することによって、定められることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 隣接ピクセル値に対して弱い値の周辺ピクセル値を減少して、減少された周辺ピクセル値を取得するステップを更に備え、パッチ内の全てのピクセル値の前記合計が、減少された前記周辺ピクセル値及び減少されなかった周辺ピクセル値を含み、それによって、前記周辺ピクセル値からのノイズ効果を減少させる、ことを特徴とする請求項2から5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記制御動作が、前記タッチ表面装置に動作状態を変更させることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記制御動作が、特定された機能を実行することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記制御動作が、前記タッチ表面に接触する前記物体を無視することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記タッチ表面装置が、タブレットコンピュータシステム、ハンドヘルドコンピュータシステム、ポータブル音楽システム及びポータブルビデオシステムの内の一つを備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記タッチ表面装置は、携帯電話を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- プログラム可能な制御装置によって読み取り可能であって、前記プログラム可能な制御装置に請求項1に記載の方法を実行させるインストラクションを内部に含む、プログラム格納デバイス。
- 請求項1に記載の方法を実行するためのプロセッサを備えるタッチ表面デバイス。
- 前記タッチ表面デバイスの前記タッチ表面の前記接近映像のデータを格納するメモリと、
前記メモリと結合され、前記接近映像のデータを受け取り、請求項1に記載の方法を実行するようにプログラムされる前記プロセッサとをさらに備える、請求項13に記載のタッチ表面デバイス。 - 前記少なくとも一つのパッチの各パッチピクセル値に対して、
[SMTH]<(下限)の場合に、[CNST’]=(背景値)を設定し、
その他の場合で、 [SMTH]>(上限)の場合に、[CNST’]=[CNST]を設定し、
その他の場合に、[CNST’]=([SMTH]−下限)×[CNST]/(上限‐下限)を設定し、
[CNST’]は、一つ又は複数の減少された周辺パッチピクセルを含む映像を示し、
[CNST]は、補償された前記接近映像のピクセル値を示し、
[SMTH]は、フィルタされた前記接近映像のピクセル値を示し、
