Description
第1および第2単位の屈折率または極性の差を利用してポリイミド基材フィルムのヘイズを均一に調節することができる。前記のような屈折率または極性の差を有する異種のポリイミドの混合物は、不透明なエマルジョンを形成することができ、このようなエマルジョンの不透明度はフィルムに転写されるものと思われる。したがって、エマルジョンを形成する成分の屈折率または極性の差を調節することによって、ポリイミドフィルムのヘイズを調節することができる。また、前記過程で屈折率が高い単位の比率を調節することによって全体的なフィルムの屈折率も簡単に調節することができる。このように従来の散乱性粒子を用いてヘイズを付与する方法ではない、高分子の単位自体を通してヘイズを付与することによって均一なヘイズとともに高分子の表面平滑度も優秀に維持できる利点がある。
正孔阻止層は、注入された正孔が発光ユニットを通って電子注入性電極層に進入することを防止して素子の寿命と効率を向上させることができる層であり、必要な場合に公知の材料を用いて発光ユニットと電子注入性電極層の間の適切な部分に形成され得る。
反応器内でBPDA(3、3、4、4’−Biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride)およびDADHB(1、3−Diamino−4、6−dihydroxybenzene)を縮合反応させてポリアミック酸溶液を合成した。引き続き、前記溶液を約20um程度の厚さでガラス基板にスピンコーティングし、オーブンで約2℃/minの速度で加熱した後、80℃で15分、150℃で30分および220℃で30分および350℃で1時間の間維持することによってイミド化反応させてポリイミド基板(A)を合成した。製造されたポリイミド基板に対して脱イオン水に対する接触角を測定した結果、約61度程度であった。
反応器内でBPDA(3、3’、4、4’−Biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride)およびDAB(1、3−Diaminobenzene)を縮合反応させてポリアミック酸溶液を合成した。引き続き、前記溶液を約20um程度の厚さでガラス基板にスピンコーティングし、オーブンで約2℃/minの速度で加熱した後、80℃で15分、150℃で30分および220℃で30分および350℃で1時間の間維持することによって、イミド化反応させてポリイミド基板(A)を合成した。製造されたポリイミド基板に対して脱イオン水に対する接触角を測定した結果、約72度程度であった。
製造例1で製造されたガラス基板上に形成されたポリイミド基板(A)上に有機電子素子を形成した。まず、前記ポリイミド基板(A)上にバリア層を形成した。バリア層は、ALD(Atomic Layer Deposition)方式で単独蒸着時に屈折率が約1.6〜1.8程度の範囲内であるAl2O3の層と単独蒸着時に屈折率が約2.0〜2.4程度の範囲内であるTiO2の層を交互に蒸着して、最終的に屈折率が約1.8程度となるように形成した。Al2O3の層は公知のALD方式にしたがって約200℃の温度で前駆体としてトリメチルアルミニウムの層と水(H2O)層を交互に吸着させて形成し、TiO2の層も公知されたALD方式により約200℃の温度で前駆体としてTiCl4の層と水(H2O)層を交互に吸着させて形成した。形成時に各Al2O3の層およびTiO2の層の厚さはそれぞれ約2nm〜5nmの範囲内となるようにして最終的に約40nm程度の厚さのバリア層を形成した。引き続き、バリア層上に公知の素材を用いて正孔注入性透明電極層、正孔輸送層、発光波長が約380〜500nmの範囲内にある第1発光ユニット、n型有機半導体層、p型有機半導体層、発光波長が約500〜700nmの範囲内にある第2発光ユニット、正孔ブロック層、電子輸送層、電子注入層および電子注入性反射電極層を順次形成して素子領域を形成し、前記素子領域を適切な封止素材で封止して有機電子装置を製造した。製造された有機電子装置を85℃の温度および85%の相対湿度条件で約500時間放置した後に有機電子装置への水分浸透の有無を確認してその結果を図1に記載した。図1から確認されるように前記方式に従う場合、実質的に有機電子素子内への水分の浸透はなかった。
製造例2で製造されたガラス基板上に形成されたポリイミド基板(B)を用いたことを除いては、実施例1と同様にして有機電子素子を形成した。製造された有機電子装置を85℃の温度および85%の相対湿度条件で約500時間放置した後に有機電子装置への水分浸透の有無を確認してその結果を図2に記載した。図2から確認されるように前記方式に従う場合、素子内に水分浸透領域が広い範囲で発生した。

- テトラカルボン酸二無水物および1,3−ジアミノ−4,6−ジヒドロキシベンゼンの縮合単位またはそのイミド化単位を含み、前記テトラカルボン酸二無水物は2以上のヒドロキシ基を有していてもよい基材フィルム;および前記基材フィルム上に形成される無機物層を含む、有機電子素子用基板であって、前記基材フィルムの表面は脱イオン水に対する常温接触角が50度以上65度以下である、有機電子素子用基板。

- 基材フィルムは、第1テトラカルボン酸二無水物と1,3−ジアミノ−4,6−ジヒドロキシベンゼンの縮合単位またはそのイミド化単位である第1単位および第2テトラカルボン酸二無水物と1,3−ジアミノ−4,6−ジヒドロキシベンゼンの縮合単位またはそのイミド化単位である屈折率および/または極性が第1単位とは異なる第2単位を含む、請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 第1単位の屈折率と第2単位の屈折率の差の絶対値が0.01以上である、請求項3に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 第1単位に含まれるハロゲン原子、ハロアルキル基、シアノ基、ニトロ基、アルコキシ基、シアネート基またはチオシアネート基からなる群から選択される極性官能基のモル数と第2単位に含まれるハロゲン原子、ハロアルキル基、シアノ基、ニトロ基、アルコキシ基、シアネート基またはチオシアネート基からなる群から選択される極性官能基のモル数の差の絶対値が2以上である、請求項3に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 基材フィルムは、第2単位100重量部対比第1単位3重量部〜30重量部を含む、請求項3に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 無機物層はALD層である、請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 無機物層は550nm波長の光に対する屈折率が1.7以上である、請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 無機物層は、第1サブ層および第2サブ層の積層構造を含む、請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 第1サブ層の厚さと第2サブ層のそれぞれの厚さは7nm以下である、請求項9に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 無機物層は厚さが7nmを超過する層を含まない、請求項10に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 第1サブ層と第2サブ層は金属酸化物層である、請求項9に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 第1サブ層の屈折率は、1.4〜1.9の範囲内で、第2サブ層の屈折率は2.0〜2.6の範囲内である、請求項9に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 請求項1に記載された有機電子素子用基板;および前記基板の無機物層上に存在する第1電極層、有機物層および第2電極層を有する素子領域を含む、有機電子素子。
- 請求項14に記載された有機電子素子を含む、ディスプレイ用光源。
- 請求項14に記載された有機電子素子を含む、照明機器。
- 基材フィルムの表面粗さの二乗平均平方根が0.1nm〜5nmの範囲内である、請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 無機物層と基材フィルムの間にバッファー層をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
