汚染土壌地域を改善する場所において、予備調査に従い、最も汚染された地域を表すとされる地点で、土壌試料を採取した。試験バッチを試料から分離し、予備調査における試料の全金属含有量に基づいて、化学量論的な計算に従って沈殿させた。沈殿後、試験バッチを乾燥し、分析した。試料に含まれる金属と、それらの含有量については、沈殿の前および後に適格審査に合格した研究所で測定した。その結果、既知の重金属および他の金属が沈殿していることが判明したが、それらの測定可能な含有量は、ダブル加振試験では、見つからなかった。さらにまた、まさに驚いたことに、As(ヒ素)およびSb(アンチモン)などのいくつかの半金属は、不溶性になったことがわかった。これは、通常問題であると考えられてる水銀と同じであった。水銀もまた、不溶性の形態で沈殿した。これらの結果を、その後評価したところ、最終的には、結局のところ、まったく驚くことはなかったということができる。つまり濃縮物は、処理が一旦開始すると、新しい沈殿核が、該処理において次の金属のために連続的に利用可能であるという適切な組成において、全部で15種の異なる金属を含んでいた。この試験において、沈殿核の正しい使用の有意性を明らかにみることが可能である。セレンは通常、非金属として分類されるが、濃縮物中に存在しているセレンでさえも、不溶性の形態で沈殿した。しかしながら、セレンのいわゆる灰色同素体は、金属のように作用し(電気および熱を伝導する)、特定の熱的方法によって、セレンの他の同素体も、灰色形態に変換できることが知られている。
硫酸塩に富み、溶液の形態におけるイオンとして、Mg(マグネシウム)、Ni(ニッケル)、Al(アルミニウム)、Mn(マンガン)およびFe(鉄)を含むいくつかの金属を含み、pHが5.65の水を、まず、ホウ酸を添加することによって、ホウ素化合物で処理した。水の緩衝能力のために、pHは5.5の値に、少しだけ変化した。
Mg2+:119mg/l/−48%;Ni2+:0.484mg/l/−84%;Al3+:0.018mg/l/−98%;Ni2+:0.13mg/l/−99.9%;Fe2+/3+:0.065mg/l/−94%。
Claims (14)
- 複数種の溶解金属塩を含む廃棄物を、ホウ素化合物と混合し、pHを、金属ホウ酸塩の生成のために必要な沈殿核の存在下において沈殿が起こる値に調整し、
前記pHは、廃棄物中にホウ酸塩として含まれる2種以上の金属を沈殿させるために、徐々に上昇するように調整されることを特徴とする、金属廃棄物を金属ホウ酸塩として沈殿させる方法。 - 前記沈殿核は、前記pHの上昇の結果として形成されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記廃棄物およびホウ素化合物を他の材料と混合させて、混合物中で起こる反応の結果によってpHが徐々に上昇する混合物を生成させることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- より低いpHで生成される、第1金属の水酸化物沈殿物が、より高いpHで、ホウ酸塩として水酸化物沈殿物を生成する第2金属を沈殿させるための沈殿核として使用されるように、少なくとも2つの異なる金属を使用することを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記pHは、11.5の値まで上昇させられる、または上昇することを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記pHは、7の値から上昇させられる、または上昇することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 廃棄物は、アルカリで沈殿させた金属水酸化物の形態であり、前記沈殿するアルカリは、水硬性セメントの硬化反応の結果として得られることを特徴とする、請求項3〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 廃棄物は、沈殿物および/または該沈殿物中に含まれる溶解塩の形態であるか、たとえば酸洗酸溶液において、沈殿物および/または沈殿物中に含まれる溶解塩の形態であるか、または土壌中にある、ことを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 水硬性セメントは、硬化したとき、石灰を放出する、または石灰と結合することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 水硬性セメントは、アルカリ活性化セメントであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- アルカリ活性化セメントは、スラグセメントであることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 水硬性セメントは、ポルトランドセメント、アルミネートセメント、またはポゾランセメントであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 金属廃棄物を、ホウ砂および/またはホウ酸などのホウ素化合物と共にコンクリート中に混ぜることを特徴とする、請求項7〜12のいずれかに記載の方法。
- ホウ砂および/またはホウ酸などのホウ素化合物を、前記pHの調整またはコンクリート中でのブレンドの前に、前もって廃棄物に混ぜることを特徴とする、請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載の方法。
