Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición para encapsular cromo así como otros metales tóxicos en un desecho sólido, lodo o pasta aguada, caracterizada porque comprende: al menos uno de un adsorbente de anión en una cantidad de hasta aproximadamente 30 por ciento en peso y un agente reductor en una cantidad de hasta aproximadamente 35 por ciento en peso; y un fijador en una cantidad entre aproximadamente 5 y 150 por ciento en peso, el fijador comprende una porción substancial de al menos uno de óxido de calcio y óxido de magnesio; en donde los porcentajes en peso están basados en el desecho sólido, lodo o pasta aguada que se va a tratar. La composición caracterizada porque el agente reductos se selecciona del grupo que incluye sulfito ferroso, bisulfito sódico, sulfito de sodio, hidrosulfito sódico, metabisulfito sódico, tiosulfato de sodio y agentes reductores orgánicos seleccionados del grupo que incluye azúcar, almidón, celulosa, carbohidratos, alcoholes y aldehídos.
