Claims (7)
- 表示領域と端子部とを有する矩形状のTFT基板と、表示領域を有する矩形状の対向基板と、前記TFT基板と前記対向基板とを接着するシール材と、前記シール材の内側に封止された液晶とを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記シール材は、第1のシール材と第2のシール材を有し、
前記第1のシール材は、前記対向基板の各辺と平行に矩形状に形成され、
前記第1のシール材は、前記端子部と対向しない3辺においては、前記対向基板の辺の端部に沿って形成され、前記端子部と対向する辺においては、前記端子部と対向する辺と平行に形成され、
前記第2のシール材は、前記端子部と対向する辺において、前記対向基板の端部と前記第1のシール材との間に形成され、
前記端子部と対向する辺において、前記第1のシール材と前記第2のシール材間に第1の壁状スペーサが形成され、前記第2のシール材と前記対向基板の端部間に第2の壁状スペーサが形成され、
前記第1のシール材および前記第2のシール材内に、複数の柱状スペーサが形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記対向基板の端部と前記第2の壁状スペーサの間に複数のスクライブ用柱状スペーサが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の壁状スペーサの角部の少なくとも内側は、曲線状に形成され、前記第1の壁状スペーサの角部の内側の形状は、平面で視てR0.3mm以上の曲率半径を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記対向基板と前記複数の柱状スペーサ間に、カラーフィルタが形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 表示領域と端子部と有するTFT基板と、表示領域を有する対向基板が第1のシール材によって接着し、前記第1のシール材の内側に液晶が封止された液晶表示パネルが複数形成されているマザー基板であって、
前記液晶表示パネルにおける表示領域はシール部によって囲まれ、
前記シール部には、前記表示領域と前記第1のシール材を囲んで第1の壁状スペーサが形成されており、
前記第1の壁状スペーサは前記TFT基板と前記対向基板の間隔を規定するものであり、
前記第1の壁状スペーサと接して、前記複数の液晶表示パネルを囲む第2のシール材が形成され、
前記シール部は、端子側シール部とその他のシール部から構成され、
前記端子側シール部においては、前記第2のシール材の外側に第2の壁状スペーサが形成され、
前記第1及び第2のシール材の内に、複数の柱状スペーサが形成されていることを特徴とするマザー基板。 - 前記第1のシール材の外側であり、前記マザー基板の端部の周辺に沿って、マザー基板用シール材が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のマザー基板。
- 前記第1の壁状スペーサの角部の少なくとも内側は、曲線状に形成され、前記第1の壁状スペーサの角部の内側の形状は、平面で視てR0.3mm以上の曲率半径を有することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
