Al2O3、MgO、CaO、SrOおよびBaOは代表的な酸化物成分のモル%を表す。
局部的なレーザー結晶化加熱によって示されたおおよその条件を最良化するため、表1に開示される成分から製造されたガラスのサンプルは、混合され、溶融され、ドローされて1mmの厚さのシートになる。次にサンプルを縦方向に半分に切断し、一方の参照部分を残し、別の部分を熱処理に供する。参照断片および熱処理断片を顕微鏡下で一緒に検査し、Mitutoyo Quick Vision QV202 Proを用いて、熱処理から得られた寸法の変化を測定した。次に、熱処理したガラスサンプルを590℃の熱処理に45分間晒した。この処理後、試験ガラスは−60ppmの寸法変化を示した。理想的には、本開示のガラスは、−80ppm以下の寸法変化を示す。自動化された光学機器は、各サンプルに数十回の反復測定を行うことから、統計的手法を用いて、サンプルにおける10ppm未満の寸法の変化に対応する、1μm程度の寸法変化を決定することができる。

2.化学清澄剤を含む、実施態様1記載のガラス。
3.前記清澄剤が、SnO2、Fe2O3、CeO2、Sb2O3、As2O3、またはそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される、実施態様2記載のガラス。
4.0.05重量%未満のAs2O3、Sb2O3またはそれらの組合せを含む、実施態様1記載のガラス。
5.0.02重量%未満のF、Cl、Brまたはそれらの組合せを含む、実施態様1記載のガラス。
6.Fe2O3で表した、250〜800ppmの鉄を含む、実施態様1〜5いずれか1項記載のガラス。
7.約1000ppm未満のアルカリ酸化物を含む、実施態様1〜6いずれか1項記載のガラス。
8.最大で約500ppmのZrO2を含む、実施態様1〜7いずれか1項記載のガラス。
9.Beta−OHが約0.55未満である、実施態様1〜8いずれか1項記載のガラス。
10.ダウンドロー法を用いて製造される、実施態様1〜9いずれか1項記載のガラスのシート。
11.前記ダウンドロー法がフュージョン法である、実施態様10記載のガラスシート。
12.1ポンド当たりの欠陥が0.2以下のガス状内包物レベルを有する20枚の連続した第4世代シートがダウンドロー法を用いて生産されるように、前記ガラスの製造に用いられるバッチ材料の酸化状態が、硝酸塩の添加を通じて操作され、酸化状態を達成することを特徴とする実施態様1記載のガラスを製造する方法。

を含むガラスであって、
1.0≦(MgO+BaO+CaO+SrO)/Al2O3≦1.24
0.7≦(CaO+SrO+BaO)/Al2O3≦0.9
0.3≦MgO/(CaO+SrO+BaO)≦0.6
ここで、Al2O3、MgO、CaO、SrOおよびBaOが酸化物成分のモル%を表し、
As2O3およびSb2O3の量は500ppm以下である、ガラス。 - 1000ppm未満のアルカリ酸化物を含む、請求項1記載のガラス。
- 0.01−0.05モル%のZrO2をさらに含む、請求項1または2記載のガラス。
- Beta−OHが0.55未満である、請求項1〜3いずれか1項記載のガラス。
- ダウンドロー法を用いて製造される、請求項1〜4いずれか1項記載のガラスのシート。
- 前記ダウンドロー法がフュージョン法である、請求項5記載のガラスシート。
- 1ポンド当たりの欠陥が0.2以下のガス状内包物レベルを有する20枚の連続した第4世代シートがダウンドロー法を用いて生産されるように、前記ガラスの製造に用いられるバッチ材料の酸化状態が、硝酸塩の添加を通じて操作され、酸化状態を達成することを特徴とする請求項1記載のガラスを製造する方法。
