前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の湿分含量は、EDANAによって推奨された試験方法No.WSP 230.2−05“Moisture Content−Weight Loss Upon Heating”に従って測定される。
この遠心分離保持能力(CRC)は、EDANAによって推奨された試験方法No.WSP 241.2−05“Gravimetric Determination of Fluid Retention Capacity in Saline Solution,After Centrifugation”に従って測定される。
前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の21.0g/cm2(AUL0.3psi)の圧力下での吸収量は、EDANAによって推奨された試験方法No.WSP 242.2−05“Gravimetric Determination of Absorption Under Pressure”に従って測定される。
49.2g/cm2(AUL0.7psi)の圧力下での吸収量は、EDANAによって推奨された試験方法No.WSP 242.2−05“Gravimetric Determination of Absorption Under Pressure”に従って測定され、その際に21.0g/cm2(AUL0.3psi)の圧力の代わりに、49.2g/cm2(AUL0.7psi)の圧力に調節される。
前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の抽出性成分の含量は、EDANAによって推奨された試験方法No.WSP 270.2−05“Determination of Extractable PolymerContent by Potentionmetric Titration”に従って測定される。
この膨潤速度(FSR)を測定するために、吸水性ポリマー粒子1.00g(=W1)を25mlのビーカー中に計量供給し、かつ当該ビーカーの底面上に均一に分配する。次に、0.9質量%の食塩溶液20mlをディスペンサーを用いて第2のビーカー中に計量供給し、このビーカーの内容物を第1のビーカーに迅速に添加し、ストップウォッチを始動させる。食塩溶液の最後の液滴が吸収されて液体表面上での鏡映が失われることが確認されたら直ちに、ストップウォッチを停止させる。第2のビーカーから注ぎ出されかつ第1のビーカー中の前記ポリマーにより吸収された、正確な液体量を、第2のビーカーの再計量によって正確に測定する(=W2)。ストップウォッチで測定された、前記吸収に必要とされる期間をtと呼称する。前記表面上での最後の液滴の消滅を時点tとして定める。そのことから、膨潤速度(FSR)は、以下のように計算される:
FSR[g/g s]=W2/(W1×t)
しかし、前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の湿分含量が3質量%を上回る場合には、この湿分含量を考慮して、質量W1を補正すべきである。
0.3psi(2070 Pa)の圧力負荷下での膨潤されたゲル層の透過率(SFC)を、欧州特許出願公開第0640330号明細書A1の記載と同様に、吸水性ポリマー粒子からなる膨潤されたゲル層のゲル層透過率として測定し、その際に前記欧州特許出願公開明細書第19頁および図8に記載された装置は、ガラスフリット(40)がもはや使用されず、プランジャー(39)がシリンダ(37)と同じプラスチック材料からなり、かつ今や全ての載置面にわたって21個の同じ大きさの孔を均一に分配して含む程度に変更された。この測定の手段ならびに評価は、欧州特許出願公開第0640330号明細書A1と比べて不変のままである。流量は、自動的に検出される。
SFC[cm3s/g]=(Fg(t=0)×L0)/(d×A×WP)
上記式中、Fg(t=0)は、流量測定のデータFg(t)の線形回帰分析につきt=0に対する外挿法によって得られる、g/sでのNaCl溶液の流量であり、L0は、cmでのゲル層の厚さであり、dは、g/cm3でのNaCl溶液の密度であり、Aは、cm2でのゲル層の面積であり、およびWPは、dyn/cm2でのゲル層上の静水圧である。
基本ポリマーの製造:
例1(比較例)
型式List ORP 10 Contikneterの二軸を備えた連続式混練型反応器(LIST AG社、Arisdorf在、スイス国)を、ジャケット上および双方の軸上で全試験時間中、95℃に一定に加熱した。これらの混練機軸を40rpmまたは10rpmで駆動させた。モノマー溶液の流量は、39.343kg/hであった(37.3質量%のアクリル酸ナトリウム水溶液31.913kg/hとアクリル酸3.682kg/hと脱塩水3.748kg/hとからなる混合物)。このモノマー溶液は、窒素で不活性化されかつ23℃の温度を有していた。さらに、このモノマー溶液に、前記反応器の前方のT字形断片を介して、3回エトキシル化されたグリセリントリアクリレート46.0g/hとアクリル酸413.9g/hと15質量%の過硫酸ナトリウム水溶液88.1g/hと1.0質量%の過酸化水素水溶液26.4g/hとからなる混合物を添加した。前記混練型反応器の長さの後方1/4(平均的滞留時間の25%に相当する)に、ノズルを介して、0.5質量%のアスコルビン酸水溶液81.9g/hを供給した。

150μm未満 0質量%。
例1と同様に方法を実施した。さらに、前記モノマー溶液中に尿素237.9g/hを溶解した。
例1と同様に方法を実施した。さらに、重合中に、前記混練型反応器の長さの後方3/4(平均的滞留時間の75%に相当する)で、ノズルを介して、32.5質量%の尿素水溶液732g/hを前記ポリマーゲル上に噴霧した。
例1と同様に方法を実施した。さらに、重合中に、前記混練型反応器の長さの後方3/4(平均的滞留時間の75%に相当する)で、ノズルを介して、20.0質量%のリン酸尿素水溶液3366.2g/hを前記ポリマーゲル上に噴霧した。
例5(比較例)
例1からの基本ポリマー1200gを、型M5の加熱ジャケットを備えたPflugschar(登録商標)ミキサー(Gebr.Loedige Maschinenbau GmbH社、Paderborn在、ドイツ国)中で、23℃および200rpmの軸回転速度で二軸噴霧ノズルを用いて、次の溶液:
イソプロパノール0.992質量%、
N−(2−ヒドロキシエチル)−2−オキサゾリジノン0.07質量%、
1,3−プロパンジオール0.07質量%、
脱塩水0.248質量%、
1,2−プロパンジオール0.70質量%、
22質量%の乳酸アルミニウム水溶液2.72質量%、
2質量%のソルビタンモノココエート水溶液0.20質量%
で被覆した(そのつど、基本ポリマーに対する)。
例5と同様に方法を実施したが、例2からの基本ポリマー1200gを使用した。
例5と同様に方法を実施したが、例3からの基本ポリマー1200gを使用した。
例5と同様に方法を実施したが、例4からの基本ポリマー1200gを使用した。
Claims (7)
- a)少なくとも部分的に中和されていてよい、少なくとも1つのエチレン性不飽和の、酸基を有するモノマー、
b)少なくとも1つの架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1つの開始剤、
d)任意に、a)に記載されたモノマーと共重合しうる、1つ以上のエチレン性不飽和モノマーおよび
e)任意に、1つ以上の水溶性ポリマー
を含有するモノマー水溶液または水性モノマー懸濁液を重合させて水性ポリマーゲルとし、このポリマーゲルを熱乾燥させ、乾燥されたポリマーゲルをポリマー粒子に微粉砕し、かつ得られたポリマー粒子を分級することを含む、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造法であって、本質的に無機酸アニオンを含まない熱発泡剤を、水性ポリマーゲル中に混合することを含み、
前記重合を混練機中で実施し、前記熱発泡剤を混練機中での滞留時間の少なくとも50%の後に添加することを特徴とする、
前記方法。 - 中和されていないモノマーa)に対して、熱発泡剤を0.1〜10質量%使用することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱発泡剤は尿素であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 熱乾燥を、熱発泡剤の分解温度を上回る温度で実施することを特徴とする、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- モノマーa)は少なくとも90モル%がアクリル酸であり、および/またはモノマーa)は、30〜80モル%が中和されていることを特徴とする、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記モノマー溶液またはモノマー懸濁液は、中和されていないモノマーa)に対して、架橋剤b)を0.1〜1質量%含有することを特徴とする、請求項1から5までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記の分級されたポリマー粒子を表面後架橋することを特徴とする、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
