Description
(i)中央の、第一面及び第二面を有する第一伝導性ガス拡散基材と、
(ii)それぞれ第一及び第二面を有する第一及び第二触媒層と、
該第一触媒層の該第一面は、該ガス拡散基材の該第一面と接触し、該第二触媒層の該第一面は、該ガス拡散基材の該第二面と接触しており、
(iii)それぞれ第一及び第二面を有する第一及び第二電解質層と、
該第一電解質層の該第一面は、該第一触媒層の該第二面と接触し、該第二電解質層の該第一面は、該第二触媒層の該第二面と接触しており、
(iv)それぞれ第一及び第二面を有する第三及び第四触媒層と、及び
該第三触媒層の該第一面は、該第一電解質層の該第二面と接触し、該第四触媒層の該第一面は、該第二電解質層の該第二面と接触しており、
(v)それぞれ厚さが400μm未満であり、それぞれ第一及び第二面を有する第一及び第二多孔質集電手段とを備えてなり、
該第一集電手段の該第一面が、該第一触媒層の該第二面と接触し、該第二集電手段の該第一面が、該第四触媒層の該第二面と接触している、
MEAを提供する。
(i)白金族金属(白金、パラジウム、ロジウム、ルテニウム、イリジウム及びオスミウム)、
(ii)金または銀、
(iii)卑金属
またはこれらの金属もしくはそれらの酸化物の一種以上を含んでなる合金または混合物から選択するのが好適である。好ましい電気触媒は白金であり、白金は、他の貴金属、例えばルテニウム、または卑金属、例えばモリブデンまたはタングステン、と合金化することができる。電気触媒が担持された触媒である場合、金属粒子の、炭素単体材料上への装填量は、10〜100重量%、好ましくは15〜75重量%である。
Claims (9)
- MEAであって、
(i)第一面及び第二面を有し、縁部に第一集電手段を備える中央伝導性ガス拡散基材と、
前記中央伝導性ガス拡散基材が、ガス輸送を促進する、通路を取り囲む多孔質マトリックスであり、
ガスは、前記通路から、前記中央伝導性ガス拡散基材の多孔質壁を介して、前記中央伝導性ガス拡散基材の第一面および第二面へ拡散し、
(ii)それぞれ第一面及び第二面を有する第一触媒層及び第二触媒層と、
前記第一触媒層の前記第一面が、前記伝導性ガス拡散基材の前記第一面と接触し、
前記第二触媒層の前記第一面が、前記伝導性ガス拡散基材の前記第二面と接触しており、
前記第一触媒層及び第二触媒層が、両方共アノード触媒層であり、
(iii)それぞれ第一面及び第二面を有する第一電解質層及び第二電解質層と、
前記第一電解質層の前記第一面が、前記第一触媒層の前記第二面と接触し、
前記第二電解質層の前記第一面が、前記第二触媒層の前記第二面と接触しており、
(iv)それぞれ第一面及び第二面を有する第三触媒層及び第四触媒層と、
前記第三触媒層の前記第一面が、前記第一電解質層の前記第二面と接触し、
前記第四触媒層の前記第一面が、前記第二電解質層の前記第二面と接触しており、
前記第三触媒層及び第四触媒層が、両方共カソード触媒層であり、
(v)それぞれ厚さが400μm未満であり、それぞれ第一面及び第二面を有する第二多孔質集電手段及び第三多孔質集電手段とを備えてなり、
前記第二集電手段の前記第一面が、前記第三触媒層の前記第二面と接触し、
前記第三集電手段の前記第一面が、前記第四触媒層の前記第二面と接触してなる、MEA。 - 前記中央伝導性ガス拡散基材が平らである、請求項1に記載のMEA。
- 前記中央伝導性ガス拡散基材が管状である、請求項1に記載のMEA。
- 前記中央伝導性ガス拡散基材が、少なくとも2個の多孔質伝導性層を備えてなり、前記多孔質伝導性層の中に窪みが形成されている、請求項1に記載のMEA。
- 前記集電手段が、導電性金属ワイヤの配列、グリッドまたはメッシュであるか、または金属または非金属フォームである、請求項1に記載のMEA。
- 前記集電手段が、織または不織導電性繊維から製造されたガス拡散基材ある、請求項1に記載のMEA。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のMEAを一個以上備えた、燃料電池。
- 燃料として水素で作動する、請求項7に記載の燃料電池。
- メタノールまたは水素化ホウ素ナトリウム溶液で作動する、請求項7に記載の燃料電池。
