本発明の実施の形態は、ラックに取り付けられている電子機器を冷却するための冷却システムを有するデータセンタ施設を提供する。本発明の実施の形態は、ラックに取り付けられている機器用のモジュラーデータセンタを提供するものであって、ラックに取り付けられている機器のための電力の分配、冷却及び構造上の支持を提供する。電力分配ユニット及びその冷却は、電気的又は機械的な不具合によって作動が停止するのを防止するための追加機能を有するシステムを備えた実施の形態に備えられる。当業者によって理解できるように、電気機器以外の機器を収容する施設にも、本発明は適用できる。
図2は、本発明の1つの実施の形態によるモジュラーデータセンタ10の平面図である。図2のモジュラーデータセンタ10は図1の構造と類似しているが、図1の構造が6個のラックによりそれぞれ列を構成しているのに対し、図2の構造では、列32と列34に、それぞれ5個のラックを配設している。図1と同様な部材には同じ符号を付してある。図2のモジュラーデータセンタ10は、電力分配ユニット14と、電力保護ユニット12と、フロアに取り付けられた冷却ユニット16と、機器ラック18と、ホットルーム22を備えている。電力保護ユニット12は、電力分配ユニット14の一方側に直接隣接配置されており、一方、フロアに取り付けられた冷却ユニット16は、電力分配ユニット14の他方側に位置している。モジュラーデータセンタ10の周囲には、サービスクリアランス空間20が設けられている。図2には、6個の機器ラック18と2個のモジュールを有する1セットの冷却ユニット16が配置されている本発明の1つの実施の形態が示されている。

Claims (13)
- 前面と後面を含む複数のラックであって、第1列と第2列に配列されると共に、前記第1列のラックの後面が前記第2列のラックの後面に面し、前記ラックの前面を通してエアを受け入れると共に前記ラックの後面を通してエアを放出する、複数のラックと、
前記第1列及び前記第2列の一方に配置されると共に、前記第1列及び第2列の他方に配置されたラックの一又は二以上の後面に対向する後面を有する冷却ユニットであって、該冷却ユニットの後面を通してエアを吸引すると共に前記冷却ユニットの前面を通して冷却後のエアを前記複数のラックの前記前面に供給する冷却ユニットと、
前記複数のラックから排出されたエアを集めるホットルームを囲む囲いであって、前記第1列と前記第2列により前記囲いの一部を構成している囲いと、
前記囲いの屋根に設けられ、前記囲い内のエアの温度が予め設定され限界温度を超えた時、又は前記囲い内のエア圧が予め設定された限界圧力を超えた時に、前記囲いから前記エアを排出するように構成されたファンと、
を備えているモジュラーデータセンタ。 - 請求項1に記載のモジュラーデータセンタにおいて、
前記第1列の第1のラックと前記第2列の第1のラックとの間を連結すると共に、下端縁と上端縁とを含む第1の端部パネルと、
前記第1列の第2のラックと前記第2列の第2のラックとの間を連結すると共に、下端縁と上端縁とを含む第2の端部パネルと、を備えており、
前記屋根は、前記第1の端部パネルの上端縁と前記第2の端部パネルの上端縁との間を連結する屋根パネルを有している、モジュラーデータセンタ。 - 請求項2に記載のモジュラーデータセンタにおいて、
前記冷却ユニットは、前記排出されたエアを集めた囲いからエアを吸引し、そのエアを冷却し、冷却後のエアを前記冷却ユニットの前面の外側に供給するモジュラーデータセンタ。 - 請求項2に記載のモジュラーデータセンタにおいて、
前記第1の端部パネル及び前記第2の端部パネルのうちの少なくとも1つのパネルにドアを設けているモジュラーデータセンタ。 - 請求項2に記載のモジュラーデータセンタにおいて、
前記屋根パネルの少なくとも一部が半透明になっているモジュラーデータセンタ。 - 請求項1に記載のモジュラーデータセンタにおいて、
前記複数のラックのうちの少なくとも1つのラックは、他のラックのうちの少なくとも1つのラック内の機器に無停電電力を供給する無停電電力供給装置を内蔵しているモジュラーデータセンタ。 - 前記第1列のラックは前記第2列のラックと略平行に配設されている請求項6記載のモジュラーデータセンタ。
- 前面と後面とを含む複数のラックを含むモジュラーデータセンタ内のエアの混合を制限するためのシステムであって、前記複数のラックが、第1列と第2列に配列されると共に、前記第1列のラックの後面が前記第2列のラックの後面に面しているシステムにおいて、
前記システムは、複数の前記ラックの前面にエアを供給するための冷却ユニットであって、前記第1列及び前記第2列の一方に配置されると共に、前記第1列及び第2列の他方のラックの一又は二以上の後面に対向する後面を有する冷却ユニットと、
前記複数のラックの後面から放出されたエアを集めるホットルームを囲む囲いとを備えており、
前記囲いは、前記第1列と第2列とで囲まれたホットルームにエアを収容すると共に、前記第1列のラックと前記第2列のラックとが一定の間隔で隔てるように両列の前記ラックに結合された屋根パネルを含み、
前記屋根パネルは、前記囲い内のエアの温度が予め設定され限界温度を超えた時、又は前記囲い内のエア圧が予め設定された限界圧力を超えた時に、前記囲いから前記エアを排出するように構成されたファンを、有している、システム。 - 請求項8に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記囲いは、さらに、前記第1列の第1のラックと前記第2列の第1のラックとの間に結合された第1の端部パネルと、前記第1列の最後のラックと前記第2列の最後のラックとの間に結合された第2の端部パネルと、を備えているシステム。 - 請求項9に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記第1の端部パネルと前記第2の端部パネルの少なくとも一方は、ドアを含んでいる、システム。 - 請求項8に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記屋根パネルの少なくとも一部は、半透明である、システム。 - 請求項8に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記複数のラックのうちの少なくとも1つのラックは、他のラックのうちの少なくとも1つのラック内の機器に無停電電力を供給する無停電電力供給装置を内蔵しているシステム。 - 請求項8に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記囲いに集められたエアは、前記冷却ユニットが前記複数のラックの前面に供給するための供給エアを構成しているシステム。
