本発明の別の態様によれば、前記湿気硬化性組成物を含有する接着剤組成物が提供される。この構成によれば、接着剤の用途において前述した湿気硬化性組成物の効果を発揮することができるとともに、上塗り塗料との密着性を向上させることができる。
本実施形態に係る湿気硬化性組成物は、湿気硬化性官能基を有する湿気硬化性基材(A)100質量部に対し、特定のビニル重合体(B)1〜100質量部を含有する。この湿気硬化性組成物が湿気により硬化し、湿気硬化性基材(A)の硬化物にビニル重合体(B)による可塑剤が分散された構造が形成されると考えられる。さらに、湿気硬化性基材(A)及びビニル重合体(B)に含まれる加水分解性シリル基等の湿気硬化性官能基が加水分解してシロキサン結合が形成され、架橋構造が形成されると考えられる。この場合、ビニル重合体(B)は、主成分として50質量%を超えるとともに95質量%以下の割合でメタクリル酸エステル単位を有している。そのため、ビニル重合体(B)は、メタクリル酸エステル単位が有する性質に基づいて、湿気硬化性組成物の貯蔵安定性を高めて硬化遅延を抑えることができるとともに、湿気硬化性組成物より得られる硬化物の耐候性を高めることができる。
好ましくは、前記ビニル重合体(B)が水酸基を有していない。この場合、水酸基が水分と親和性を示すころにより湿気硬化性組成物の貯蔵安定性及び硬化性が低下することを抑制することができる。
前記実施形態は、次のように変更して具体化されてもよい。
湿気硬化性組成物は、前記ビニル重合体(B)以外の低分子量の可塑剤を含有してもよい。
湿気硬化性組成物は、難燃剤、架橋剤等を含有してもよい。
(重合体Aの製造方法)
オイルジャケットを備えるとともに1リットルの容量を有する加圧式攪拌槽型反応器のオイルジャケット温度を220℃に保持した。次いで、メタクリル酸ブチル(BMA)70質量部、アクリル酸ブチル(BA)30質量部、及びメチルエチルケトン10質量部からなる単量体混合液に、重合開始剤としてのジターシャリーブチルパーオキサイド(DTBP)1質量部を混合した後、該混合液を原料タンクに仕込んだ。そして、一定の供給速度(48g/分、滞留時間:12分)で原料タンクから単量体混合液を反応器に連続供給し、反応器内の混合液の質量が580gで一定になるように重合物を反応器出口から連続的に抜き出した。このとき、反応器内温を所望の220℃に保持した。さらに、抜き出した反応物から、20kPaの減圧度、及び250℃の温度に保持した薄膜蒸発器を用いて揮発成分を連続的に分離し、該揮発成分をほとんど含まない重合体を回収した。
重合体B〜Iを、表1に示すビニル系単量体組成を用いた以外は重合体Aの製造方法と同様の方法により得た。各重合体B〜IのMw及び粘度を表1に示す。また、各重合体B〜Iの色調について、黄変等の不具合は認められなかった。
攪拌機、温度計、送液ポンプ、窒素導入管、及びコンデンサーを備えた2リットル4つ口フラスコに酢酸ブチル(BAc)200質量部を入れ、窒素雰囲気下でフラスコ内を100℃に保持した。次いで、メタクリル酸ブチル(BMA)80質量部、及びアクリル酸ブチル(BA)20質量部からなる単量体混合液に、重合開始剤としてのアゾビスイソバレロニトリル(AIVN)3質量部、及び連鎖移動剤ドデシルメルカプタン(DM)4質量部を混合した後、該混合液を原料タンクに仕込んだ。そして、一定の供給速度(3.6g/分、時間:300分)で原料タンクから単量体混合液を反応器に連続供給し、反応器内の反応温度を100℃で一定に保つように外温度を制御した。同温度で送液終了後、反応物を1時間熟成した。その後、溶媒と残存単量体等の揮発成分とを除去するために減圧脱溶媒を4時間行い、揮発成分をほとんど含まない重合体J約1kgを回収した。
重合体K〜Nを、表1に示すビニル系単量体組成を用いた以外は重合体Aの製造方法と同様の方法により得た。各重合体K〜NのMw及び粘度を表1に示す。また、各重合体K〜Nの色調について、黄変等の不具合は認められなかった。
オイルジャケットを備えるとともに1リットルの容量を有する加圧式攪拌槽型反応器のオイルジャケット温度を180℃に保持した。次いで、メタクリル酸メチル(MMA)10質量部、γ−メタクリロイルオキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン(SiM)1.4質量部、アクリル酸ブチル(BA)68.6質量部、アクリル酸2−エチルヘキシル(HA)21質量部、イソプロピルアルコール(IPA)12質量部、メチルエチルケトン(MEK)10質量部、オルト酢酸メチル(MOA)8質量部、及び重合開始剤としてジターシャリーヘキシルパーオキサイド(DTHP)0.2質量部からなる単量体混合液を、一定の供給速度(48g/分、滞留時間:12分)で原料タンクから反応器に連続供給した。そして、単量体混合液の供給量に相当する反応液を出口から連続的に抜き出した。反応開始直後に一旦反応温度が低下し、その後に重合熱による温度上昇が認められたが、オイルジャケット温度を制御することにより、反応温度を180〜182℃に保持した。さらに、抜き出した反応物から、20kPaの減圧度、及び250℃の温度に保持した薄膜蒸発器を用いて揮発成分を連続的に分離し、揮発成分をほとんど含まない重合体を回収した。
シーリング剤組成物を想定し、下記の表2に示す割合に従って各成分を配合して湿気硬化性組成物を調製した。そして、得られた湿気硬化性組成物からその硬化物としての1mmの厚さを有するシートを作製し、常温で14日間の養生を行った。シートから1号ダンベル試験片を打ち抜き、引張物性として50%破断時の強度(M50)、破断時の強度(Ts)及び伸度(El)、作業性、耐候性、並びに硬化遅延を下記に示す方法で測定又は評価した。それらの結果を表3に示す。また、表2中における略号の意味を以下に示す。
アクリルシリコーン:重合体O;
老化防止剤:チバスペシャリティー(株)製のチヌビンB75;
炭酸カルシウム:白石カルシウム(株)製の白艶華CCR;
アミノシラン:日本ユニカー(株)製のA1120;
ビニルシラン:日本ユニカー(株)製のA171;
硬化触媒:ジブチル錫ジラウレート;及び
黒色トナー:カーボンブラックペースト。
各湿気硬化性組成物を基板に厚さ2mmで塗布し、23℃、50%RH(相対湿度)の条件下で1週間養生して該組成物を硬化させてシートを作成した。得られたシートより引張り試験用ダンベルを作製し、引張り試験機((株)東洋精機製作所製、テンシロン200)により測定した。引張り試験用ダンベルの形状は、日本工業規格であるJIS K 6251(国際規格であるISO37)の3号形に基づいている。具体的には、温度23℃、湿度50%の環境下における引張速度5cm/分の条件にて、50%破断時の強度(M50、単位MPa)、破断時の強度(Ts、単位MPa)、及び伸度(El、単位%)を測定した。
各湿気硬化性組成物をコテにより基板に塗布し、該組成物の塗布のし易さを評価した。表3の“作業性”欄において、“○○”は湿気硬化性組成物の塗布性が極めて良好であることを示し、“○”は湿気硬化性組成物の塗布性が良好であることを示し、“△”は湿気硬化性組成物の塗布性がやや不良であることを示す。
各湿気硬化性組成物を基板に厚さ2mmで塗布し、23℃、50%RHの条件下で1週間養生して該組成物を硬化させてシートを作製した。メタリングウェザーメーター(DAIPLA METAL WEATHER KU-R5NCI-A、ダイプラ・ウィンテス社製)でシートの促進耐候性試験を行い、100時間毎に、目視にてシートにおけるクラックとチョーキングとの発生を観察した。表3の“耐候性”欄において、“初期”は促進耐候性試験の開始時の結果を示し、例えば“100hr”は促進耐候性試験の開始時から100時間経過したときの結果を示す。また、“耐候性”欄において、“○”クラックとチョーキングとが観察されなかったことを示し、“△”はクラックとチョーキングとが一部に発生したことを示し、“×”はクラックとチョーキングとがシートの全面にわたって発生したことを示し、“−”はシートの観察が行われなかったことを示す。
各湿気硬化性組成物の各成分の配合直後に該組成物を硬化させて作成したシートと、該組成物を50℃で1ヶ月間貯蔵した後に硬化させて作成したシートとについて、JIS A 1439に基づいて、タックフリー試験を行った。具体的には、指触によりタックフリーと認められるまでに要する時間を測定した。50℃で1ヶ月間貯蔵後のシートにおいてタックフリーに要する時間(hr)と、各成分の配合直後のシートにおいてタックフリーに要する時間(hr)との差は湿気硬化性組成物の硬化遅延を示す。そのため、前記差が大きいことは、湿気硬化性組成物の貯蔵安定性が悪いことを意味する。
Claims (4)
- 湿気硬化性官能基を有する湿気硬化性基材(A)と、
500〜7,000の質量平均分子量を有するとともに25℃における粘度が1〜300Pa・sであり、かつメタクリル酸エステル単位を有するビニル重合体(B)とを含有し、
前記ビニル重合体(B)におけるメタクリル酸エステル単位の割合が50質量%を超えるとともに95質量%以下であり、
さらに、前記メタクリル酸エステル単位において、メタクリル酸エステルを形成するアルコール残基の50質量%以上が、4以上の炭素数を有する直鎖状、分岐状、又は脂環式アルキル基であり、
前記湿気硬化性基材(A)100質量部に対してビニル重合体(B)を1〜100質量部の割合で含有することを特徴とする湿気硬化性組成物。 - 前記湿気硬化性組成物が無溶剤型であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の湿気硬化性組成物。
- 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の湿気硬化性組成物を含有することを特徴とする接着剤組成物。
- 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の湿気硬化性組成物を含有することを特徴とするシーリング剤組成物。
