Claims (5)
- 非回転のハウジングに取り付けられ、このハウジングの内周に横向きに挿通された回転体に摺動可能に密接される対油シールリップを有するオイルシールと、前記回転体に前記オイルシールの外側に位置して取り付けられるダストカバーとを備え、互いに対向する前記オイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの一方に、前記対油シールリップと回転体との摺動部より外側に位置すると共に前記オイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの他方と摺動可能に密接される外部シールリップが設けられ、前記外部シールリップより外径側に、前記ダストカバーとこれに近接対向させたフランジによりラビリンスシールが形成され、このラビリンスシールの内径端が、前記外部シールリップの摺動部に対して軸方向にずれた位置にあって、円周方向へ連続した泥水受け溝に対向されたことを特徴とする密封装置。
- 非回転のハウジングに取り付けられ、このハウジングの内周に横向きに挿通された回転体に摺動可能に密接される対油シールリップを有するオイルシールと、前記回転体に前記オイルシールの外側に位置して取り付けられるダストカバーとを備え、互いに対向する前記オイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの一方に、前記対油シールリップと回転体との摺動部より外側に位置すると共に前記オイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの他方と摺動可能に密接される外部シールリップが設けられ、この外部シールリップの外径側に、前記オイルシールの延長部とダストカバーが互いに近接したラビリンスシールが設けられ、このラビリンスシールは、互いに軸方向に対向した前記延長部とダストカバーとの間の内側円盤状隙間と、その外側にあって互いに径方向に対向した前記延長部とダストカバーとの間の筒状隙間と、更にその外側にあって軸方向に対向し、前記延長部及びダストカバーのうち一方に形成された鍔部と前記延長部及びダストカバーのうち他方に形成された外筒部との間の外径隙間とからなることを特徴とする密封装置。
- 泥水受け溝が、ラビリンスシールと外部シールリップの間に設けた泥水受けリップの根元の外周に形成されたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の密封装置。
- 互いに対向するオイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの一方に、外部シールリップとラビリンスシールとの間に位置して、前記オイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの他方と摺動可能に密接され、前記外部シールリップよりも締め代の小さい補助シールリップが設けられたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の密封装置。
- 外部シールリップが、オイルシール及びダストカバーのうちの他方に形成した円筒部の外周面に摺動可能に密接されたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の密封装置。
