Description
流体が貫流できる通路を形成すべく、組織化された多数の薄板を互い違いに重ね合わせて少なくとも1つのスタックを製造する工程、
少なくとも1つのスタックを、円筒形のハニカム体に成形する工程、および
円筒形からずれた外側形状が発生されるようにハニカム体を成形する工程。
Claims (10)
- ハニカム体(2)が一部は複数の平形薄板(3)であり、一部は複数の波形薄板(4)である多数の薄板(3、4)で構成され、それらの薄板先端(5)でハニカム体(2)の外側形状(6)を形成するように構成された、金属ハニカム体(2)を含む触媒担体(1)の製造方法において、少なくとも
流体が貫流できる通路(8)が生ずるように成形した多数の薄板(3、4)を互い違いに重ね合わせて少なくとも1つのスタック(7)を製造する工程と、
少なくとも1つのスタック(7)を円筒形(9)をしたハニカム体(2)で、且つ、それぞれが所定の内部面積(21、22)を有する両端面(19、20)を備えたハニカム体(2)に成形し、前記複数の平形薄板(3)と波形薄板(4)とが少なくとも円筒形(9)内でS字状に曲げる工程と、
円筒形(9)からずれた外側形状(6)が発生されるようにハニカム体(2)を成形する工程とを含み、
前記複数の平形薄板(3)と波形薄板(4)はハニカム体(2)の変形後もS字状に保たれ、
前記平形薄板(3)および波形薄板(4)の全ての先端(5)を半径方向外側に配置してハニカム体の外側形状を境界づけ、
両端面(19、20)の内部面積(21、22)はハニカム体(2)の変形の前後でほぼ一定であることを特徴とする金属ハニカム体を含む触媒担体の製造方法。 - 円筒形(9)からのハニカム体(2)の成形を、ハニカム体(2)の外周面(10)に作用する力によって行い、その力を、外周面(10)の円周(11)にわたって不均一に分布して導入することを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 円筒形(9)からのハニカム体(2)の成形を、入口開口断面(13)と出口開口断面(14)とを備えた工具(12)によって行い、その入口開口断面(13)をほぼ円形とし、出口開口断面(14)を製造すべき外側形状(6)の横断面に相当させ、ハニカム体(2)を、工具(12)の入口開口断面(13)から出口開口断面(14)に向かって通過させることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の方法。
- 円筒形(9)からずれた外側形状(6)をハニカム体(2)の軸線(16)の方向において部分領域(15)にしか形成しないように、円筒形(9)を一部でのみ変形させることを特徴とする請求項1から3の1つに記載の方法。
- 外側形状(6)を持つハニカム体(2)が、続いて外被管(17)の中に少なくとも部分的に挿入されることを特徴とする請求項1から4の1つに記載の方法。
- 少なくとも部分的に外被管(17)の中に挿入したハニカム体(2)にろう材を着け、その後、平形薄板(3)と波形薄板(4)との間並びに好適にはハニカム体(2)と外被管(7)との間にも接合技術的結合部(18)を発生すべく、熱処理を施すことを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- ハニカム体(2)が多数の平形薄板(3)と波形薄板(4)を有し、両薄板の先端(5)でハニカム体(2)の外側形状(6)を形成するように構成され、ハニカム体(2)が第1内部面積(21)を持つ第1端面(19)と第2内部面積(42)を持つ第2端面(20)を持ち、請求項1から6の1つに記載の方法で製造された、通路(8)が貫通して延びている金属ハニカム体(2)を有する触媒担体(1)において、第1端面(19)と第2端面(20)が、大きさ的に同じ内部面積(21、42)を持つが、同形ではないことを特徴とする触媒担体。
- 第1端面(19)が長軸長(22)と短軸長(23)とを有する楕円形をなし、第2端面(20)が直径(24)の円形をなし、長軸長(22)と短軸長(23)が、円直径(24)から高々30%しかずれていないことを特徴とする請求項7記載の触媒担体。
- ハニカム体(2)を円筒形(9)からそれとずれた外側形状(6)に変形させる触媒担体(1)用の金属ハニカム体(2)を製造するための工具(12)において、該工具(12)が入口開口断面(13)と出口開口断面(14)とを有し、入口開口断面(13)がほぼ円形をなし、出口開口断面(14)が製造すべき外側形状(6)の断面に相当し、ハニカム体(2)が工具(12)の入口開口断面(13)から出口開口断面(14)に向かって通過することを特徴とする工具。
- 出口開口断面(14)が最大内法(25)と最小内法(26)とを有し、入口開口断面(13)が直径寸法(27)を有し、最大内法(25)と最小内法(26)が、直径寸法(27)から高々30%しかずれていないことを特徴とする請求項9記載の工具。
