Description
(1)比誘電率(εr)が使用周波数領域帯域で一定であり、誘電正接(tanδ)が低いなど誘電特性に優れる、
(2)低膨張特性(環境寸法安定性)、耐熱性、難燃性、剛性等の機械物性など種々の物性に優れている、
(3)成形時の流動性に優れ、薄肉部、微細部を有する成形品を容易に加工できる、
などの優れた性質を有することから、高周波用途において特に期待されている材料である。
i)全芳香族液晶ポリエステル中の全繰返し単位の合計量に対する、式(I)で表される繰返し単位のモル比率が40〜80モル%であって、
ii)式(II)で表される繰り返し単位と式(III)で表される繰り返し単位の合計量と、式(IV)で表される繰返し単位のモル比が90/100〜100/90であって、
iii)式(II)で表される繰返し単位と式(III)で表される繰返し単位の合計量に対する、式(II)で表される繰返し単位のモル比率が80〜99.9モル%である、全芳香族液晶ポリエステルを提供する:
式(IV)において、Arは2価の芳香族基である]。
式(IV)において、Arは2価の芳香族基である]。
本発明の全芳香族液晶ポリエステルの製造方法に特に制限はなく、前記の単量体の組み合わせからなるエステル結合を形成させる公知の重縮合方法、例えば溶融アシドリシス法、スラリー重合法などを用いることができる。
触媒の具体例としては、ジアルキルスズオキシド(たとえばジブチルスズオキシド)、ジアリールスズオキシドなどの有機スズ化合物;二酸化チタン、三酸化アンチモン、アルコキシチタンシリケート、チタンアルコキシドなどのチタン化合物;カルボン酸のアルカリまたはアルカリ土類金属塩(たとえば酢酸カリウム);無機酸塩類(たとえば硫酸カリウム);ルイス酸(例えば三フッ化硼素);ハロゲン化水素(例えば塩化水素)などの気体状酸触媒などが挙げられる。
実施例および比較例において、結晶融解温度(Tm)、荷重たわみ温度(DTUL)、引張強度、曲げ強度、Izod衝撃強度、誘電正接(tanδ)は以下の方法で測定した。
示差走査熱量計としてセイコーインスツルメント株式会社製 Exstar6000を用い、液晶ポリエステルの試料を、室温から20℃/分の昇温条件で測定した際に観測される吸熱ピーク温度(Tm1)の観測後、Tm1より20〜50℃高い温度で10分間保持する。ついで、20℃/分の降温条件で室温まで試料を冷却した後に、再度20℃/分の昇温条件で測定した際の吸熱ピークを観測し、そのピークトップを示す温度を全芳香族液晶ポリエステルの融点とした。
全芳香族液晶ポリエステルの試料を射出成形機(日精樹脂工業(株)製UH1000−110)を用いて長さ127mm、幅12.7mm、厚さ3.2mmの短冊状試験片に成形し、これを用いてASTM D648に準拠し、荷重1.82MPa、昇温速度2℃/分で測定した。
型締め圧15トンの射出成形機(住友重機械工業株式会社製 MINIMAT M26/15)を用いてシリンダ温度350℃、金型温度70℃で射出成形し、図1の厚み2.0mmのダンベル状試験片を得た。引張試験はINSTRON5567(インストロンジャパン カンパニイリミテッド社製万能試験機)を用いて、スパン間距離25.4mm、引っ張り速度5mm/minで行った。
型締め圧15トンの射出成形機(住友重機械工業株式会社製 MINIMAT M26/15)を用いてシリンダ温度350℃、金型温度70℃で射出成形し、12.7×64×2.0mmの短冊状曲げ試験片を得た。曲げ試験は、3点曲げ試験をINSTRON5567(インストロンジャパン カンパニイリミテッド社製万能試験機)を用いて、スパン間距離40.0mm、圧縮速度1.3mm/minで行った。
曲げ強度測定に用いた試験片と同じ試験片を用いて、ASTM D256に準拠して測定した。
射出成形機(日精樹脂工業株式会社製 PS40)を用いて、長さ85mm、幅1.75mm、厚さ1.75mmのスティック状試験片を作成し、その試験片を用いて、ベクトルネットワークアナライザー(アジレントテクノロジー社製)にて1GHzにおける誘電正接を空洞共振器摂動法により測定した。
〔液晶ポリエステル樹脂モノマー〕
BON6:6−ヒドロキシ−2−ナフトエ酸
BP:4,4’−ジヒドロキシビフェニル
HQ:ハイドロキノン
RE:レゾルシン
TPA:テレフタル酸
トルクメーター付き攪拌装置および留出管を備えた反応容器にBON6、BP、HQ、およびTPAを表1に示す組成比で、総量6.5molとなるように仕込み、次いで酢酸カリウム26.7mg(全モノマーに対して22.6ppm)および、全モノマーの水酸基量(モル)に対して1.03倍モルの無水酢酸を仕込み、次の条件で脱酢酸重合を行った。
モノマーの組成比、および酢酸カリウムの使用量を表2に記載のものに変えることの他は、実施例1と同様にして、全芳香族液晶ポリエステルを得た。
トルクメーター付撹拌装置および留出管を備えた反応容器に、BON6(80モル%)、BP(9モル%)、HQ(1モル%)、およびTPA(10モル%)を総量6.5molとなるように仕込んだ他は、実施例1と同様に重合反応を行ったところ、160℃付近で反応容器の内容物が塊状になり撹拌困難となったため、全芳香族液晶ポリエステルは得ることはできなかった。
Claims (10)
- 式(I)、式(II)、式(III)、および式(IV)で表される繰り返し単位からなる全芳香族液晶ポリエステルであって、
i)全芳香族液晶ポリエステル中の全繰返し単位の合計量に対する、式(I)で表される繰返し単位のモル比率が45〜70モル%であって、
ii)式(II)で表される繰り返し単位と式(III)で表される繰り返し単位の合計量と、式(IV)で表される繰返し単位のモル比が90/100〜100/90であって、
iii)式(II)で表される繰返し単位と式(III)で表される繰返し単位の合計量に対する、式(II)で表される繰返し単位のモル比率が80〜99.9モル%である、全芳香族液晶ポリエステル:
式(IV)において、Arは2価の芳香族基である]。 - 式(II)で表される繰返し単位と式(III)で表される繰返し単位の合計量に対する、式(II)で表される繰返し単位のモル比率が90〜98モル%である、請求項1に記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル。
- 12.7×64×2.0mmの短冊状曲げ試験片を用いてASTM D256に準拠して測定したIzod衝撃強度が100J/m以上である、請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル。
- 長さ85mm、幅1.75mm、厚さ1.75mmのスティック状試験片を用いて、1GHzにおいて測定した誘電正接が0.001以下である請求項1〜4の何れかに記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル。
- 請求項1〜5の何れかに記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル100重量部に対し、無機充填材および/または有機充填材の1種以上を0.1〜200重量部含んでなる全芳香族液晶ポリエステル組成物。
- 無機充填材および/または有機充填材が、ガラス繊維、シリカアルミナ繊維、アルミナ繊維、炭素繊維、チタン酸カリウム繊維、ホウ酸アルミニウム繊維、アラミド繊維、タルク、マイカ、グラファイト、ウォラストナイト、ドロマイト、クレイ、ガラスフレーク、ガラスビーズ、ガラスバルーン、炭酸カルシウム、硫酸バリウム、および酸化チタンからなる群から選択される1種以上のものである、請求項6に記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル組成物。
- 無機充填材がガラス繊維である、請求項7に記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル組成物。
- 請求項1〜5の何れかに記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステルまたは請求項6〜8の何れかに記載の全芳香族液晶ポリエステル組成物を成形してなる成形品。
- アンテナ、コネクター、または基板である、請求項9に記載の成形品。
