Description
a)フレークを分散担持したベヒクルを含んでいる組成のペースト状インクを用意するステップ、ここに、該フレークが少なくともフィールド配列可能な物質の層を備えたものであり、
b) そして、基板(4)に対し印刷的に当該インクを施与するステップ、
c)インクに対してエネルギーを印加することによってペースト状インクの粘度を低下させるステップ、
d)印加フィールドを用いてフレークを再配列させ、画像を形成するステップ、
からなるものである。
また、上記の発明において、前記ペースト状インクは、15〜25℃の温度範囲内で少なくとも100Pa・s以上の粘度(V)を呈するようにしてもよい。
さらに、上記の発明において、前記粘度を低下させるステップは、施与された上記インクに対し、少なくとも磁場ないしは電場を印加するに充分な間は継続して、ペースト状インクの粘度(V)を少なくとも60%だけ低下させるステップを含み、その際、上記フレークの粒子は電場または磁場の力線方向に整列可能な状態にペースト状インク内で保たれ、前記印加フィールドを用いるステップは、施与された上記インクに対し、電場または磁場を印加して、フレークを整列させるステップを含むようにしてもよい。
a) そのときの雰囲気温度において粘度値(V)を呈すると共にフレークを
分散担持したベヒクルを用いた組成のペースト状インクを用意するステッ
プ、ここに、該フレークが少なくとも磁力配列可能な物質の層を備えたも
のであり、そしてb)基板に対し印刷的に当該インクを施与し、
b) 基板に施与された上記ペースト状インクにつき、少なくとも該インクに
対し磁場ないしは電場を印加するに充分な間は継続して、その粘度(V)
を実質的に充分に低下させるステップ、その際、上記フレークの粒子は電
場または磁場の力線方向に整列可能な状態に保たれ、
c) 基板に施与された上記インクに対し磁場又は電場を印加するステップ、
からなるものである。
は、フレーク含有ペースト状インクに対し配列過程の間じゅう一時的にその粘稠度を低下させ得るので、本発明においては好都合である。
《註》 粘度測定の際の剪断速度は 5.7 s-1 とした。
#1. 磁性層を有した光学可変干渉性顔料の粒子を有する酸化キュアリング
(焼付け)性ペースト状インクを調製準備し、
#2. 凹刻プレートと試験室用凹版印刷機を用い、上質ボンド紙シートに対
して上記インクを施与し、
#3. 各シートを個々に毎分50〜200フィートのスピードでコンベアに
より搬送し、
#4. 磁石群の近傍上流側において約300℃の熱空を各シートに吹付け、
インク粘度を60%以上低下させ、
#5. 加熱直後、寸法が4.0×1.5×0.25インチのホウ化鉄ネオジ
ム(NdFeB)磁石2個を直列にし進行方向の長さが計8.0インチで
ある磁石列上にシートを通し、粘度低下インク画像を磁場にかけること
で、各イメージの長さに亘るアーチ状にフレークを整列させ、
#6. 最後に上記コンベアにて各シートを加熱域と磁場域から排出し、酸化
的キュアリングを実施する、
という工程で印刷ずみシートを作製した。
この例では、磁場等の内部でフレークを整列させるには60%の粘度低下で充分であったが、他の例ではインクの元来の粘度などにもよるが80%以上の粘度低下が望ましいこともある。

Claims (18)
- a)特定効果フレークを分散担持したベヒクルを含んでいる組成のペースト状インクを用意するステップ、ここに、該フレークが少なくとも磁場フィールドにより配列可能な物質の層を備えたものであり、
b)そして、基板(4)に対し印刷的に当該インクを施与するステップ、
c)インクに対してエネルギーを印加することによってペースト状インクの粘度を低下させるステップ、
d)印加された磁場フィールドを用いて前記フレークを再配列させ、施与されたインク中の前記フレークの少なくとも一部分が、そのとき印加されている磁場フィールドの作用力線ラインに沿って配列した画像を形成するステップ、
の各ステップからなる印刷方法。 - 前記ペースト状インクは、15〜25℃の温度範囲内で少なくとも100Pa・s以上の粘度(V)を呈する請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記粘度を低下させるステップは、少なくとも、ペースト状インク内で、印加された磁場フィールドの力線ラインに沿って、前記フレークが整列するために充分な時間の間は、ペースト状インクの粘度(V)を少なくとも60%は低下させるステップを含む請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記ステップc)において粘度(V)が少なくとも80%低下させられる請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記ペースト状インクの粘度(V)を下げるステップを、前記ステップb) の後で、またはその間じゅう、に加熱により遂行する請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記の加熱ステップが、前記基板を加熱ローラに接して走行させる操作を含んだものである請求項5に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記基板の加熱により前記ペースト状インクが熱せられる請求項5に記載の印刷方法。
- 印胴と圧胴を用いて前記インクが基板に施与され、これら両胴の少なくとも一方を加熱することで前記加熱ステップが遂行され、圧胴には磁場形成のための磁石が封埋されている請求項5に記載の印刷方法。
- 印胴と圧胴を用いて前記インクが基板に施与され、前記加熱ステップが印胴の下流側で熱を賦与するものである請求項5に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記の加熱ステップが、加熱部材に沿っての基板走行過程を含んだものである請求項5に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記ステップb) が凹版印刷の一工程であり、前記ペースト状インクが前記フレークを含有した凹版印刷用のインクである請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記ペースト状インクの粘度を、基板へのインク施与後に低下させる請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- ステップd)において前記フレークが整列したのち、該フレークを焼付けキュアリングするステップe)を更に備えた請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記のキュアリングステップが、表層乾燥を行なう5分未満の第1期と、下層部分を硬化させる後続の第2期とからなる請求項13に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記のキュアリングステップが、インク加熱の直後に該インクに対し紫外線または電子線を照射することを含んだものである請求項13に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記のキュアリングステップが、インクに対する紫外線照射を含んだものである請求項13に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記キュアリングステップが、インクに対し電子線ビームを照射するステップを含んだものである請求項13に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記のペースト状インクが遅乾性溶媒及び/又はキュアリング遅延剤を含有している請求項1に記載の印刷方法。
