Description
Claims (10)
- 複数のトラックを含む磁気媒体に書き込みを行うための磁気書き込み装置において、前記トラックの各々が、情報を記憶するための複数の隔離された磁気素子を含み、前記磁気書き込み装置が、
リーディング・エッジ、トレーリング・エッジ、並びに前記リーディング・エッジを前記トレーリング・エッジに接続する第1のサイド・エッジ及び第2のサイド・エッジを有する書き込み素子先端部を含み、前記リーディング・エッジから前記トレーリング・エッジまでに延びる書き込み素子先端部の長さを有する、書き込み素子と、
前記第1のサイド・エッジおよび前記第2のサイド・エッジのうちの一方のみに近接し、前記書き込み素子先端部の長さよりも短いダウントラック方向の長さを有する第1のシールドと
を備える磁気書き込み装置。 - 前記リーディング・エッジ、前記トレーリング・エッジ、並びに前記第1のサイド・エッジ及び第2のサイド・エッジが、前記トレーリング・エッジにおいて最大の幅を有する実質的に台形の形状を有する媒体対向面を画定する請求項1に記載された磁気書き込み装置。
- 前記書き込み素子先端部の前記トレーリング・エッジに近接する第2のシールドをさらに備える請求項1に記載された磁気書き込み装置。
- 前記第2のシールドが前記第1のシールドと一体化されている請求項3に記載された磁気書き込み装置。
- 前記トレーリング・エッジの幅が、隔離されたそれぞれの磁気素子よりも大きい請求項1に記載された磁気書き込み装置。
- 前記書き込み素子の少なくとも1つの面が対称軸をもたない請求項1に記載された磁気書き込み装置。
- 前記第1のサイド・エッジ及び前記トレーリング・エッジによって形成される第1の角度が、前記第2のサイド・エッジ及び前記トレーリング・エッジによって形成される第2の角度とは異なっている請求項1に記載された磁気書き込み装置。
- 磁気記録システムにおいて、該磁気記録システムが、
情報を記憶するための複数の隔離された磁気素子をそれぞれが含む複数のトラックを有する磁気媒体と、
リーディング・エッジ、トレーリング・エッジ、並びに前記リーディング・エッジを前記トレーリング・エッジに接続する第1のサイド・エッジ及び第2のサイド・エッジによって画定される媒体対向面を有する書き込み素子先端部を含み、前記リーディング・エッジから前記トレーリング・エッジまで延びる書き込み素子先端部の長さを有する書き込み素子であって、前記トレーリング・エッジの幅が、前記磁気媒体上の隔離された磁気素子の幅よりも大きく、該書き込み素子の少なくとも1つの面が対称軸をもたない、書き込み素子と、
前記書き込み素子先端部の前記第1のサイド・エッジおよび前記第2のサイド・エッジのうちの一方のみに近接し、前記書き込み素子先端部の長さよりも短いダウントラック方向の長さを有する第1のシールドと
を備える、磁気記録システム。 - 前記媒体対向面が、前記トレーリング・エッジにおいて最大の幅を有する実質的に台形の形状を有している請求項8に記載された磁気記録システム。
- 前記第1のサイド・エッジ及び前記トレーリング・エッジによって形成される第1の角度が、前記第2のサイド・エッジ及び前記トレーリング・エッジによって形成される第2の角度とは異なっている請求項8に記載された磁気記録システム。
