Description
(1)画素電極と対向電極と薄膜トランジスタとを有する第1の基板と、前記第1の基板に対向する第2の基板と、前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板との対向間隙に封入された液晶層とを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記画素電極の少なくとも一部は、第1の絶縁膜を介して前記薄膜トランジスタと重畳し、前記画素電極は、前記第1の絶縁膜に形成されたコンタクトホールを介して前記薄膜トランジスタの出力電極と接続され、
前記対向電極は、第2の絶縁膜を介して前記画素電極の上層に、前記画素電極と重畳して配置され、前記対向電極は、平面で見た時、前記第1の絶縁膜の前記コンタクトホールを避けた位置に形成され、前記対向電極の少なくとも一部は、前記薄膜トランジスタと重畳することを特徴とする。
(5)(1)から(4)の何れかにおいて、反射型表示領域と透過型表示領域とを有することを特徴とする。
(7)(1)から(6)の何れかにおいて、前記画素電極が透明導電膜であることを特徴とする。
(9)(1)から(4)の何れかにおいて、前記画素電極と、前記薄膜トランジスタの入力電極と前記出力電極が反射導電膜であることを特徴とする。
Claims (11)
- 画素電極と対向電極と薄膜トランジスタとを有する第1の基板と、
前記第1の基板に対向する第2の基板と、
前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板との間に配置された液晶層とを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記対向電極は、複数の櫛歯部を有して櫛歯状に形成され、
前記画素電極の少なくとも一部は、第1の絶縁膜を介して前記薄膜トランジスタと重畳し、
前記画素電極は、前記第1の絶縁膜に形成されたコンタクトホールを介して前記薄膜トランジスタの出力電極と接続され、
前記対向電極は、第2の絶縁膜を介して前記画素電極の上層に配置され、
前記対向電極は、平面で見た時、前記第1の絶縁膜の前記コンタクトホールを避けた位置に形成され、
前記対向電極の前記複数の櫛歯部は、平面で見た時、前記画素電極と重畳し、
前記対向電極の前記複数の櫛歯部の少なくとも一部は、前記薄膜トランジスタと重畳することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記コンタクトホールの領域は反射型表示領域であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記薄膜トランジスタの領域の少なくとも一部は反射型表示領域であることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 反射型表示領域を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 反射型表示領域と透過型表示領域とを有することを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記薄膜トランジスタの入力電極と前記出力電極が反射導電膜であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項5の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素電極が透明導電膜であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素電極の少なくとも一部が反射導電膜であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素電極と、前記薄膜トランジスタの入力電極と前記出力電極が反射導電膜であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2の絶縁膜の一部は、前記コンタクトホールに充填され、
前記コンタクトホールと重畳する領域の前記第2の絶縁膜は、前記液晶層側の表面が平坦であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項9の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第2の絶縁膜とは異なる材質の絶縁材が、前記コンタクトホールに充填され、
前記コンタクトホールと重畳する領域の前記第2の絶縁膜は、前記液晶層側の表面が平坦であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項9の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
