Description
第1実施形態は、ホスト機器およびカードがサポートしている動作電圧範囲の相互確認に関する。
第2実施形態は、カードが搭載するメモリが、大容量メモリであるか小容量メモリであるかに応じたメモリの初期化の方法に関する。
(2)従来ホスト機器+大容量カード
(3)大容量サポートホスト機器(小容量もサポート)+小容量カード
(4)大容量サポートホスト機器+大容量カード
以上の何れの場合かを、ホスト機器または(および)カードが検出して、これに合わせた対応をすることが望まれる。
Claims (6)
- 情報を記録するメモリ、および前記メモリを制御するためのコントローラを有し、
小容量フォーマット、または前記小容量フォーマットが用いられた場合よりも大容量の情報を記憶可能な大容量フォーマットをサポートし、
電圧範囲識別部と、誤り検出部と、チェックパターン部と、を含んだ電圧識別コマンドを認識可能に構成されたメモリデバイスであって、
前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部が、前記電圧識別コマンドを発行するホスト機器が印加する電源電圧の範囲を示すパターンを有し、
前記電圧識別コマンドに応答して、電圧範囲識別部と、誤り検出部またはチェックパターン部と、を含んだレスポンスを発行し、
前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部が、前記印加する電源電圧で前記メモリデバイスが動作可能な場合に前記印加する電源電圧の範囲と同じ電圧の範囲を示すパターンを有し、
前記レスポンスの前記誤り検出部が、前記レスポンスを受信した前記ホスト機器が前記レスポンス内の誤りを検出できるように構成されたパターンを有し、
前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部が前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部と同じパターンを有する場合、前記メモリデバイスの初期化が許可され、
前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部が前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部と異なるパターンを有する場合、前記メモリデバイスの初期化が禁止される、
ことを特徴とするメモリデバイス。 - 前記メモリデバイスが、前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部と前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部とが同じパターンを有する場合に前記ホスト機器によって発行されるコマンドであって前記メモリデバイスの初期化を指示し且つ前記ホスト機器が前記小容量フォーマットのみをサポートするか前記小容量フォーマットおよび前記大容量フォーマットの両方をサポートするかを示すパターンを有する容量識別部を含んだコマンドを認識可能に構成される、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のメモリデバイス。 - 情報を記録するメモリ、および前記メモリを制御するためのコントローラを有し、
小容量フォーマット、または前記小容量フォーマットが用いられた場合よりも大容量の情報を記憶可能な大容量フォーマットをサポートし、
電圧識別コマンドを発行するホスト機器が印加する電源電圧の範囲を示すパターンを有する電圧範囲識別部を含んだ電圧識別コマンドを認識可能に構成されたメモリデバイスであって、
前記電圧識別コマンドに応答して、前記印加する電源電圧で前記メモリデバイスが動作可能な場合に前記印加する電源電圧の範囲と同じ電圧の範囲を示すパターンを有する電圧範囲識別部を含んだレスポンスを前記メモリデバイスが発行した場合に前記メモリデバイスの初期化が許可され、
前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部が前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部と異なるパターンを有する場合、前記メモリデバイスの初期化が禁止され、
前記メモリデバイスが、前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部と前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部とが同じパターンを有する場合に前記ホスト機器によって発行されるコマンドであって前記メモリデバイスの初期化を指示し且つ前記ホスト機器が前記小容量フォーマットのみをサポートするか前記小容量フォーマットおよび前記大容量フォーマットの両方をサポートするかを示すパターンを有する容量識別部を含んだコマンドを認識可能に構成される、
ことを特徴とするメモリデバイス。 - 前記メモリデバイスが大容量フォーマットをサポートし、
前記メモリデバイスが受信した前記初期化を指示するコマンド中の前記容量識別部が前記小容量フォーマットのみをサポートすることを示す場合、前記メモリデバイスの初期化を中止する、
ことを特徴とする請求項2または3のメモリデバイス。 - メモリデバイスから情報を読み出し、且つメモリデバイスに情報を書き込むように構成され、
電圧範囲識別部と、誤り検出部と、チェックパターン部と、を含んだ電圧識別コマンドを前記メモリデバイスに発行するように構成されたホスト機器であって、
前記電圧範囲識別部が、前記ホスト機器が印加する電源電圧の範囲を示すパターンを有し、
前記誤り検出部が、前記電圧識別コマンドを受信した前記メモリデバイスが前記電圧識別コマンド内の誤りを検出できるよう構成されたパターンを有し、
前記チェックパターン部が、予め設定されたパターンを有し、
前記ホスト機器が、前記電圧識別コマンドに応答して、前記印加する電源電圧の範囲を示すパターンと同じパターンを有する電圧範囲識別部を含んだレスポンスを前記メモリデバイスから受信した場合に前記メモリデバイスの初期化を実行し、
前記ホスト機器が、前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部が前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別と異なるパターンを有する場合、前記メモリデバイスの初期化を中止する、
ことを特徴とするホスト機器。 - 前記レスポンスの前記電圧範囲識別部と前記電圧識別コマンドの前記電圧範囲識別部とが同じパターンを有する場合、前記メモリデバイスの初期化を指示し且つ前記ホスト機器が前記小容量フォーマットのみをサポートするか前記小容量フォーマットおよび前記大容量フォーマットの両方をサポートするかを示すパターンを有する容量識別部を含んだコマンドを発行するように構成される、
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のホスト機器。
